We’ve narrowed down all the Halloween activities in the region to some of our favorites including haunted houses, scarecrow exhibits, spooky stories, Halloween bashes, a corn maze, ziplines, marathons and of course….trick or treating.  We found so much to do, that you’ll need November 1st to recuperate!  Here is our list, in order by date.

Mountain City

The Addams Family

The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family.

Elizabethton

Scary Stories at Fort Watauga
Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
An annual event not to be missed, Scary Stories is set inside the fort, creating a unique atmosphere for an evening of spooky tales geared to the entire family.

Halloween at Roan Mountain Campground
Oct. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m.
$5 per vehicle
Campers compete for prizes for best decorated campsite and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.  Hayrides through the haunted forest will take place until 8:30 p.m.  Visitors may roast hot dogs over the bonfire, with free hot dogs provided for the first 1,000 people beginning at 6 p.m..  Drinks and other concessions will be available for purchase.

Downtown Halloween Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 31 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Jonesborough

Main Street Brews & Boos
Oct. 27 at 8 p.m.

This storytelling event is an extension of the popular Main Street Brews and Tunes series with a slight twist dedicated to Halloween.

Haunted Half Marathon & Boo to Brew Relay
Oct. 28 from 9 a.m.t o 1 p.m.
Entry fees vary
This 13.1 mile trip through the hills of Jonesborough ends downtown with a very spooky Halloween Contest, post race chili from Main Street Cafe and Michelob Ultra and Goose Island beer for participants 21 over.

Halloween Haunts & Happenings
Oct. 28 from 2 to 8 p.m.

Downtown Jonesborough transforms into a spooky town with The Great Carved Pumpkin Contest, Spooky Pooch Palooza, Flashlight Haunted Egg Hunt, trick-or-treating and more.

Jonesborough Storytellers Guild Halloween Concert
Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
$5 adults $3 children
The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild will celebrate with a special concert dedicated to spooky tales of Halloween.

 

 

Johnson City

Barktoberfest + 3rd Annual Bark or Treat
Oct 27 from 5 to 10 p.m.
Monster Dash is a fundraiser for the Washington Co. Humane Society, all other events are FREE.
In addition to The Monster Dash walk there will be live entertainment, a Halloween costume contest, face painting, Bark or Treat Village, a puppy bowl, canine demonstrations, boardwalk games, and Barking Vendor Village with Barktoberfest Beer specially crafted by JRH Brewing.

Join the Mall at Johnson City for a day of Halloween festivities including hayrides, food trucks, costume judging and of course trick-or-treating.

Rogersville

Rogersville Arts Council Haunted House

Downtown Trunk-or-Treat
Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Grab your favorite costume and head to the Historic District/Main Street area of Rogersville for candy, games and more.

 

Bristol

Pumpkin Palaooza and Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 28 beginning at 9 a.m.

Take part in the fun and games along State Street with Believe in Bristol and Bristol TN Parks & Recreation. Activities include pumpkin decorating, treat bags and trick-or-treating throughout downtown.

Quaker Steak and Lube’s Kid’s Boo Bash
Oct. 28 from noon to 3 p.m.
Kids can enjoy crafts, games, face painting, and a bounce house (weather permitting). The event is free to the public and kid’s meals are only $0.99 during the event.

Kingsport

Halloween Bash

$5 in advance and $10 at the door
*Must be 18+ to enter, ID required

Come out for a night of fun at Tri-Cities largest Halloween party. The Halloween Bash presented by Bud Light will have Acoustifried, live DJ, games, food trucks, beer and water, and the $1,500 Halloween Express Costume Contest.

 

Greeneville

Halloween Happenings
Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Trick-or-Treat throughout downtown Greeneville and participate in other activities including hay rides, chalk drawing in the street, Spooky Tales in the Old Gaol and a costume contest for all ages..
