Capitol Theatre: Ernie Thacker Benefit

Ernie Thacker is a deeply beloved bluegrass artist whose life took a tragic turn in April 2006. As a teen, Ernie was the lengendary Ralph Stanley’s lead vocalst, as well as having a successful path with his solo recordings. But on April 18, as he was driving to his brother’s house near his home in the Clinch Valley region of Virginia, his car went off the road and he was thrown from the vehicle. He has no memory of the accident itself, but it left him with multiple, very serious injuries.
Ernie’s battle continues as he has developed a severe bone infection and doctors have rendered further treatment futile.
Now is the time for the bluegrass community to come together to support Ernie by attending this all-star fundraising event with proceeds going to Ernie to help with his expenses.
