Diba Alvi, soprano

Soprano Diba Alvi has received critical acclaim for both her operatic roles and concert performances, for her command of the stage and “stellar vocalism,” says The Pittsburgh Tribune. With degrees in opera theater and voice performance from Oberlin Conservatory and University of Michigan and a doctorate in voice performance from University of Maryland, Alvi’s résumé includes operatic roles of Nella in Gianni Schicci, Adele in Die Fledermaus and multiple roles in the Wagner Ring Saga. “The agile coloratura” has also performed concerts at universities and with symphony orchestras, including Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, in 2008. Following her solo performance in Johnson City, Alvi will serve a weeklong residency with ETSU vocal students.
