Little Texas, America’s Favorite Rockin’ Country Band, comes to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center on June 1

GREENEVILLE, TN –  The band name might seem like an oxymoron, but Little Texas sure knows how to bring the spirit of the South into their country music. The Niswonger Performing Arts Center welcomes Little Texas to Greeneville on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m.

First formed in 1988, Little Texas released their debut album First Time for Everything via Warner Bros. in 1991. The hit song “Some Guys Have All the Love” launched the band’s career, and their biggest hits to date include songs like “What Might Have Been” and “God Blessed Texas.” As part of the Young Country movement of the early ‘90s, Little Texas was responsible for shaking up the country music world with a new, energetic sound that fused the look and attitude of modern rock music with traditional country themes and styles, bringing a much-appreciated bolt of life into the genre. Breezing through the 90s with huge country music hits and albums, such as Kick a Little, Little Texas are still fan favorites.

For their efforts, country fans the world over richly rewarded the band, buying up over 7 million of their albums, while critics showered them with three Grammy nominations plus honors from both the Academy of Country Music (Vocal Group Of The Year) and the Country Music Association (Album Of The Year).
