Hiking Adventure- Flint Rock Loop

Our first-ever HIKING ADVENTURE will be adventurous indeed! We’ll head out to a remote corner of Holston Mountain called Flint Rock. It’s a STEEP & strenuous climb to a fine view of South Holston Lake and of Holston High Knob. This hike will also offer a chance to view a variety of unusual native plants and wildlife. We’ll cover about 8 miles of rugged, rocky terrain.
Please note that this is a DIFFICULT hike. Participants must be prepared for stiff climbs, slippery, rocky terrain, and the presence of stinging nettle, black bears and venomous snakes. Wear long pants and sturdy hiking boots. Bring plenty of food and water.
We’ll meet at Warriors’ Path pool parking lot, departing PROMPTLY at 8 AM to carpool to the trailhead. It’s about an hour-long drive to the start of our hike.
