History Happy Hour

October 18, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Birthplace of Country Music in Bristol will be bringing the history of country music to Jonesborough on Thursday, October 18!

Rene Rodgers, the head curator of the museum, will be the speaker for this month’s History Happy Hour program. The topic of her talk will be the “Bristol Sessions,” a series of influential recordings that were integral to the early development of country music and recorded in Bristol. Learn the larger history of the influential recording sessions and hear stories about some of the lesser-known artists from the Sessions. These stories are based on objects and oral histories from their family members.

History Happy Hour is a collaborative program in its second year at the Chester Inn Museum. The programs are on the 3rd Thursday each month at 6:30 pm, and they are free and open to the public. This month’s presentation will be held at the International Storytelling Center beside the Chester Inn Museum.
