Johnson City: Musical performance by Lawler + Fadoul

On Thursday, March 7, two more young music luminaries bring their unique repertoire of classics and new music to Johnson City. Lawler + Fadoul, the duo of flutist Zara Lawler and marimbist Paul Fadoul, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Mathes Hall.

The duo promises “an unexpected mélange of classical virtuosity, lively commentary, theatrical flair and a small dose of indie rock sensibility.”

“The combination of flute and marimba may seem a bit odd,” DeAngelis says, “but I’ve seen Lawler + Fadoul a couple of times and their performances are unique and often playful. One piece may include old commercial jingles, while another may be based on their reaction to dust jackets. They exemplify the fact that art is not created in a vacuum.”
