Jonesborough Yarn Exchange: Our Amazing Animals
July 22, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$5“Our Amazing Animals” Yarn Exchange Live Radio Show Presents Tales of Wondrous Animal Encounters
From the friendly black bear that was spotted behind the Pancake House on Boone Street, ambling its way back home into the wild, to Snuggles, the real life cartoon doggie whose observations are seen weekly in the Herald and Tribune, to an innocent black snake left in a bedroom drawer overnight by an equally innocent (so he declares!) future pastor, Jonesborough is definitely a town that loves its animals both out in the wild and in the home.
On July 22 at 7 PM, the Jonesborough Yarn Exchange live radio show will present “Our Amazing Animals,” in a production filled with stories about incredible animal encounters from all over the region. Also included are stories about the work of the Humane Society, as well as local “foster Pet Parents,” and their experiences with caring for animals until they are ready to be adopted.
Joining the cast as musical guests this month will be the Sweetwater Troubadours. An eclectic assortment of tunes from the crazy quilt background of a honky tonk/bluegrass musician, wedded to a classical/folk musician with a West Indian twist. They present country to calypso, old English ballade to medieval incantation – with originals thrown into the mix. Guitars and banjo, flutes, harmonica and vocal harmonies, percussion and more ~ these Troubadours invite you to time travel from sorrow to silly – and back.
Tickets for the production are $5 and available online at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Visitors Center at 423-753-1010. Seating is limited, and advance tickets are recommended. This program is part of Jonesborough’s StoryTown Initiative and sponsored by the Tennessee Arts Commission.
