Long Island Iced Tea Day
Just in time for International Long Island Iced Tea Day on June 6, Visit Kingsport is celebrating Kingsport’s connection to the drink. Happening this Saturday, June 6, Visit Kingsport is launching its Long Island Tea Trail, which features a new digital passport experience.
The Kickoff event takes place at High Voltage (101 Cherokee Street) from 6 until 8 PM on Saturday evening. High Voltage will be open to the public and everyone is invited to attend.
The event will celebrate the original Long Island Iced Tea and showcase how the community can get involved with its story. High Voltage will be serving their new “Voltage Tea,” their take on the original, brewed with maple syrup. Attendees who purchase a Voltage Tea will receive a souvenir Long Island Tea Trail cup. Visit Kingsport will also have a team on site with Long Island Tea Trail giveaways and informational materials.
The Long Island Tea Trail will highlight participating Kingsport businesses serving their own spin on the drink. From crafted cocktails to sweet treats and more, the trail will give visitors and residents a new way to celebrate the Kingsport original while supporting local businesses and exploring the city. There are more than two dozen businesses taking part in the trail, and the new digital passport will offer a way to track progress along the trail and spotlight those businesses.
