Niswonger Performing Arts Center: The Purple Xperience
January 29, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The Purple Xperience, a five-piece Prince tribute band hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been zig-zagging around the country since February of 2011, bringing the unmistakable music of Prince and The Revolution to audiences of all generations. This is Greeneville’s chance to “party like it’s 1999” and celebrate the quintessential music of one of America’s greatest artists and innovators.
The Purple Xperience, led by Marshall Charloff, “embodies the image, intensity and sounds” of Prince’s life. Founded in 2011 by Charloff and original Revolution band member Matt “Doctor” Fink, the Purple Xperience has entertained well over 300,000 fans, sharing stages with The Time, Cameo, Fetty Wap, Gin Blossoms, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Cheap Trick. The Purple Xperience hosts a number of world-class players, including: Tracey Blake on lead guitar (New Power generation, Sons of Almighty featuring members of NPG, Tracey Blake Project and Westside), Ron Long on bass guitar (Christina Aguilera, The Backstreet Boys, 98°, also recorded with John L, Larry Blackman of Cameo, and Spike Lee), Ron Caron on drums (The Rembrandts, Tina and the B Sides, The Melismatics). Cory Eischen on keys (New Power Generation and Prince’s protégé group, Mazarati).
Charloff, a self-taught instrumentalist and vocalist, imaginatively styles the magic of Prince’s talent in an uncannily unmatched fashion with his appearance, vocal imitation, and multi-instrumental capacity on guitar and piano. Marshall recorded with Prince on the album 94 East, where he plays both keyboards and bass guitar with Prince on lead vocals.
