SUMMARY:Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon
DESCRIPTION:You still have a chance to enjoy the spectacle of “Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon” in the planetarium theater at Bays Mountain Park. But act soon because there are only four dates left this year to experience this amazing show.\n\nShowings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on October 9 and 16 and on November 20 and 27. Ticket prices are $10 per person for park members and $15 per person for non-members.\nThis 45-minute program combines an incredible surround mix of the music with breathtaking views of the solar system and beyond. Each song has a different theme with some futuristically looking forward and some a retro acknowledgment to Pink Floyd’s visual history.\n\nPink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon is a truly immersive experience that will transcend reality and take you beyond the realms of a 2-D experience.\n\n“All of the visuals relate to a time and space experience\, embracing up-to-the-minute technology that only a planetarium can offer\,” said Planetarium Director Jason Dorfman. “We believe fans of astronomy and Pink Floyd will be blown away by this program\, so be sure to get your tickets now.”\n\nTo purchase tickets\, visit https://bit.ly/4rTxy3P. You can also click on the CivicRec link in the Connect Kingsport app or go to www.kingsporttn.gov and click on the “CivicRec” link\, then search for “Pink Floyd” in the search bar.\n\nThe program comes to Bays Mountain Park thanks to the generous support of the Bays Mountain Park Association. For more information about Bays Mountain Park and its programs\, events and activities\, visit www.baysmountain.com.\nAbout Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium\nAnnually\, more than 150\,000 visitors pass through Bays Mountain Park making it one of the State of Tennessee’s Top 50 Most Visited Attractions\, according to the State of Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. One of the nation’s largest city-owned parks with 3\,788 acres\, Bays Mountain Park features roughly 44 miles of hiking trails\, a state-of-the-art planetarium\, wildlife habitats\, fun exhibits\, a 44-acre lake\, trails for mountain biking and much\, much more. For more information\, please visit www.baysmountain.com.\nAbout the City of Kingsport\nFounded in 1917\, the City of Kingsport (pop. 57\,500) is located on the Tennessee-Virginia border at the crossroads of I-81 and I-26 near the geographic center of the eastern United States. The city is widely known as a planned community\, designed by renowned city planner John Nolen and wrapping around the foot of Bays Mountain – a 3\,788-acre park\, nature preserve\, planetarium and observatory. Kingsport is recognized as an International Safe Community by the National Safety Council\, a Healthier Tennessee community\, and won the 2009 Harvard Innovations in American Government Award for its higher education initiatives. While many city names are duplicated throughout the U.S.\, there’s only one Kingsport – a fact that invokes community pride\, known locally as the “Kingsport Spirit.” For more information\, please visit www.kingsporttn.gov
