Roan Mountain First Day Hike

Start the New Year off right with Roan Mountain State Park’s First Hike of 2018. Join a Park Ranger for a winter morning hike along the frosty Doe River.
Meet at Picnic Shelter 3 in the Campground. We will be hiking approximately 1 mile out and 1 mile back along the Tom Gray Trail.
Please be prepared for cold, windy, and perhaps even snowy conditions as the average January temperature in Roan Mountain is 24 degrees!
Following the hike, we will warm up with hot chocolate at Picnic Shelter 3.
Please register in advance for this event.
