Scotch Tasting at the Carnegie Hotel

On April 18, 2014 at the Carnegie Hotel from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. East Tennessee State University’s Appalachian, Scottish, and Irish Studies Program will host a Scotch Tasting to benefit the Thomas G. Burton Scholarship endowment and the Appalachian, Scottish, and Irish Studies Program at ETSU.
This year the event will feature single-malt selections from Scotland’s Highlands and Island, plus a special surprise Scotch to conclude the evening. Wellington’s Restaurant will provide a delicious selection of heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Guests will enjoy music performed by the ETSU Celtic Pride Band, and the gift of a Glencairn Whisky glass.
Tickets to the Scotch Tasting are $80.00 per person or $140.00 for a couple. A portion of the ticket cost is tax deductible. For tickets, please contact Kevin Masters at 423-979-6718 orkevin@wellingtonsrestaurant.com Guests should RSVP by April 14th. Suggested dress is business casual.
The Carnegie Hotel is offering a special rate for Friday evening accommodations and Saturday breakfast for out of town guests or for those who would just like a special evening and night at the Carnegie.
The Burton Scholarship Endowment was created to honor Dr. Thomas Burton who initiated and developed the Appalachian, Scottish, and Irish Studies Program; and to financially assist student participants in the ASIS Study Abroad Course in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
