Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas: An Anniversary Celebration

The Metropolitan Opera is celebrating 20 years of its Live in HD cinema series with a special anniversary presentation at the Jackson Theatre on Saturday, September 26 at 1pm.
Hosted by renowned soprano Renée Fleming, Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas: An Anniversary Celebration looks back at two decades of Met performances on the big screen. The presentation will feature memorable moments selected from more than 185 performances, with appearances by celebrated artists including Lise Davidsen, Joyce DiDonato, Elīna Garanča, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jonas Kaufmann, Peter Mattei, Sondra Radvanovsky and Nadine Sierra.
The Metropolitan Opera launched Live in HD in 2006, becoming the first arts organization to offer an ongoing global series of cinema presentations. Since then, more than 33 million tickets have been sold, bringing Met performances to audiences around the world.
The anniversary presentation is part of the Jackson Theatre’s ongoing Met: Live in HD series, which brings Metropolitan Opera performances and special programs to the big screen in downtown Jonesborough, TN.
Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas: An Anniversary Celebration will be shown Saturday, September 26 at 1pm at the Jackson Theatre. Tickets are available at thejacksontheatre.com.
