DESCRIPTION:Bristol\, TN/VA (April 23\, 2026) – On Friday\, May 1\, 2026\, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.\, downtown will be filled with art lovers and connoisseurs\, as several galleries and some local favorites join together to host another Art D’Vine event! This art walk offers patrons the chance to gain after-hours access to merchants\, sample delicious refreshments\, and enjoy a range of works from artists across the region. \nAs with previous gallery hops\, participants are invited to stroll through Historic Downtown Bristol\, stopping to enjoy all that downtown has to offer. New for this event\, Ben Walls Gallery will serve as the host location\, providing a centralized spot for guests to pick up and turn in their event “passports.” Participants are encouraged to share their experience using #FirstFridaysBristol and to return their completed passport for a chance to win a downtown prize. \nEach of the “galleries” will feature varieties of wine\, beer\, or non-alcoholic beverages for sampling. Participating businesses will be announced the Tuesday before the event. \nThis event is free to the public\, though there is a suggested one-time donation of $5 with the proceeds supporting the work of the Arts & Entertainment District of Historic Downtown Bristol\, TN/VA. DESCRIPTION:The Tipton-Haynes Historical Association\, Inc. will be hosting the Peddler’s Post vendor flea market on May 2. The day will center around the local artisan as they present their hard work and products. From 9am to 6pm the public can browse through the numerous and various merchant booths while several food trucks/vendors will be on site throughout the day. There will also be local historic based demonstrators showcasing their talents.\nThere is no admission as we hope that you will help us contribute to and aid our local artisans and community. Donations to the Tipton-Haynes non-profit are welcomed and will go to help the site continue its mission values

Join us as we celebrate mom on the Three Rivers Rambler and the Star of Knoxville Join us as we leave Johnson City on private motor coaches to our destination in Knoxville\, TN.\, where we will board the Three Rivers Rambler’s Steam Engine\, #203\, the “Lindy”. We will then travel through the scenic heart of Knoxville\, the University of Tennessee\, downtown\, and historical sites to the “Three Rivers Trestle” where the French Broad and Holston Rivers join to form the Tennessee River. ***Three Rivers Rambler reserves the right to change the operating power without notice for any reason. The #203 will have a diesel as a backup. We will celebrate mom with lunch on the Star of Knoxville\, which is one of four authentic paddlewheel riverboats in the United States. We will enjoy a delicious meal while cruising the Tennessee River\, past iconic downtown landmarks while you spend that special time with mom and enjoy some true southern hospitality. SUMMARY:Stories by the Stitch Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Heritage Alliance and The McKinney Center invite students to explore history in a creative\, hands-on way through a special textiles and weaving workshop inspired by the “Stories by the Stitch” exhibit at the Jonesborough Washington County History Museum.\n\nThe workshop will take place on Thursday\, May 28\, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The session will begin with the Heritage Alliance team sharing examples of regional textiles\, discussing the history and significance of textile creation\, and providing students with the opportunity to handle authentic artifacts. Following this historical introduction\, the McKinney Center team will lead a weaving workshop in which students will work on small frame looms\, learn basic weaving terminology\, and apply their knowledge to create their own projects. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with various types of yarn to design a unique woven piece to take home.\n\nAll materials will be provided. Space is limited to 16 students\, and advance registration is required. The workshop will be held at the Jonesborough Washington County History Museum\, located within the Jonesborough Visitors Center. The program is free of charge and is open to students in grades 3 through 5.
