SUMMARY:Birthplace of Country Music: Love Canon Album Release
DESCRIPTION:The Birthplace of Country Music is proud to welcome Love Canon on Tuesday\, July 3 at 7:00 p.m. to debut their new album\, COVER STORY: A Journey Through Music’s Great Decade\, in the Performance Theater at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. \nDoors open at 7:00 p.m. \nShow begins at 7:30 p.m. \nTickets: $20.00 \nCLICK HERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS \nABOUT LOVE CANNON\nLOVE CANON brings their acoustic-roots sensibilities to the electronic-tinged pop hits of the 80’s and 90’s to create Cover Story\, their 4th album\, due out on Organic Records in July 2018. With Cover Story\, LOVE CANON delivers a fresh set of classics\, crossing genres to recount music of decades past from the likes of Peter Gabriel\, Billy Joel\, Depeche Mode\, and Paul Simon. The self-produced album hosts a plethora of special guests including Jerry Douglas\, Aoife O’Donovan\, Keller Williams\, Michael Cleveland\, and Eric Krasno\, among others. \nThe band’s diehard fans are music lovers first and are drawn to the charismatic and wide-ranging vocal stylings of lead singer and guitarist Jesse Harper matched with banjo master Adam Larrabee\, mandolin pickin’ by Andy Thacker\, Darrell Muller holding down the low-end on standup bass\, and the slick sounds of resonator guitar king Jay Starling on the Beard MA-6. It’s acoustic rock! Acclaimed fiddler Alex Hargreaves [Turtle Island Quartet\, Sarah Jarosz] does all of the fiddling on this record with the exception of two tracks\, and he occasionally joins them on tour. \nAs seasoned virtuoso string players who have been touring the mid-Atlantic since 2010\, LOVE CANON stays true to the approach\, arrangements\, and keen artistry of these nostalgic hits. Cover Story was engineered by Rob Evans at Dave Matthews Band’s Haunted Hollow Studio in LOVE CANON’s hometown of Charlottesville\, Virginia and mixed by Wayne Pooley\, Bruce Hornsby’s Engineer/Producer. Cover Story is a follow up to the band’s previous efforts\, Greatest Hits Volumes 1-3. \n

SUMMARY:Farm & Fun Time ft. Carson Peters & Iron Mountain\, The Brother Brothers
DESCRIPTION:Radio Bristol Presents Farm and Fun Time ft.\nCarson Peters & Iron Mountain\, The Brother Brothers July 12\nLive Variety Show at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBristol\, VA/TN\, (June 21\, 2018) — Young Carson Peters has wowed audiences at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and the Grand Ole Opry\, and also made national TV with NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey. To us\, this precocious Piney Flats\, Tennessee native is one of the brightest examples of how we “grow” young musicans in the traditions of Appalachian music here in our region and an exciting addition to the Farm and Fun Time stage in the “acoustically perfect” Performance Theater at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Carson Peters and his band Iron Mountain share the twin brother duo of Adam and Davis Moss\, a.k.a. The Brother Brothers. Some may remember the harmonious Americana act from their performance at last year’s Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion as they took to the stage as part of the 90th anniversary tribute to the 1927 Bristol Sessions. \n“We’ll be coming back with a bang for July’s show with two diverse acts that illustrate how roots music like bluegrass and folk are in good hands with the next generation of pickers and singers\,” said Farm and Fun Time producer and host Kris Truelsen. “The Brother Brothers will soon be touring nationally with acclaimed band I’m With Her\, so this is a great chance to see them here in Bristol. This is a show not to be missed!” \nFarm and Fun Time takes place on Thursday\, July 12 at 7:00 p.m. EST at the museum; doors open at 6:30 p.m. EST and guests are asked to be seated by 6:50 p.m. Tickets to be part of the live studio audience are $30 plus tax and fees. \nFarm and Fun Time features a variety of segments including jingles written and performed by house band Bill and the Belles\, a farm report\, an heirloom recipe segment\, and nationally touring artists. A revival of the former WCYB radio program that aired from downtown Bristol in the 1940s and 1950s\, Radio Bristol’s Farm and Fun Time is original programming the entire family will enjoy. \n\nRadio Bristol can be accessed 24 hours a day\, 7 days a week on 100.1 FM in the Bristol area\, online at ListenRadioBristol.org\, and through the station’s free mobile app. You can also view the program on Radio Bristol’s Facebook Live at Facebook.com/WBCMRadioBristol. \n\nTo purchase tickets and for more information on concerts and programming\, visit the events page at BirthplaceofCountryMusic.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Radio Bristol\nPresented by the nonprofit Birthplace of Country Music\, Radio Bristol showcases the diversity of American roots music from the early recording era to today. Reaching the world through their online media center\, Radio Bristol produces original programming through recordings and live sessions from the Birthplace of Country Music Museum and the Bristol\, Virginia/Tennessee region. Radio Bristol broadcasts on 100.1 FM in the Bristol area\, online at ListenRadioBristol.org\, and through the station’s free mobile app. The Birthplace of Country Music is the parent organization of the Birthplace of Country Music Museum\, the annual Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival\, and Radio Bristol. They are neither of the typical Texas-based types of bands – a country-rock mélange or strictly indie rock. As Buddy Magazine points out\, “Thrift Store Cowboys’ feel is more\, for a lack of better description\, gypsy desert music — the free sound of spacey\, heat-induced delirium…a sure\, confident sound backed by thoughtful vision.” Schumacher produced their 2007 release\, Lay Low While Crawling or Creeping\, of which Austin Sound said\, “the album is to country music what Jim Jarmusch’s film Deadman was to the western.”\n\nAbout Guy Marshall\nGuy Marshall Shirley was Adam McNulty’s late grandfather. “Shirley passed away in 2008\, but the kind of man that he was and the land he called home lives on inthe music made by McNulty and his wife\, Sarrenna. Together with a few talented friends\, they’ve made Guy Marshall an up-and-coming East Tennessee roots-rock outfit that plays with touching beauty and sincerity.”
