SUMMARY:Niswonger Performing Arts Center: Diamond Rio
DESCRIPTION:Diamond Rio\n\n\n\n\nIt’s a rare feat for an artist to reach the No. 1 position on Billboard magazine’s chart with a very first single. Diamond Rio did just that in 1991 with the hit song “Meet in the Middle.” Country radio and record buyers enthusiastically responded to the group’s catchy melodies\, perfectly executed three-part harmony singing\, and first-rate instrumental work so smooth that it virtually conceals the formidable skills of the individual players. \nDiamond Rio has sold more than 10 million albums\, won a GRAMMY® Award\, a Dove Award\, six Vocal Group of the Year wins (CMA and ACM)\, two Greatest Hit albums\, earned five multi-week No. 1 singles\, 22 Top 10 singles\, three certified Platinum and five Gold albums\, and released an autobiography. The band is also known for their hits “How Your Love Makes Me Feel\,” “One More Day\,” “Beautiful Mess\,” “Unbelievable\,” “In A Week or Two\,” and more.

SUMMARY:Niswonger Performing Arts Center: The Four Tops
DESCRIPTION:The Four Tops\n\n\n\n\nTheir first Motown hit\, “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964 quickly turned The Four Tops into stars. Their songs\, soulful and bittersweet\, were across-the-board successes. The No. 1 R&B and pop smash\, “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie\, Honey Bunch)\,” is one of Motown’s longest-running chart toppers. It was quickly followed by “It’s The Same Old Song\,” “Reach Out I’ll Be There” and “Standing in the Shadows of Love.” \nThe Four Tops is one of the few groups to have hits in three consecutive decades. The 70s produced a string of hits with “Ain’t No Woman (Like the One I’ve Got)\,” “Keeper Of The Castle\,” “Are You Man Enough\,” and “Midnight Flower.” \nAfter moving to Casablanca Records in 1980\, the group hit No. 1 again with “When She Was My Girl.” With 24 Top 40 Pop hits to their credit\, the Four Tops were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

DESCRIPTION:Switchfoot: “The Beautiful Letdown Tour”\n\n\n\n\n2023 marks the 20th anniversary of Switchfoot’s seminal album\, The Beautiful Letdown. The triple-Platinum record included the chart-topping hits\, “Meant To Live” and “Dare You To Move\,” and changed the lives of the band members and a generation the world over. \nDrummer Chad Butler recalls\, “Looking back\, I realize the album was aptly titled.  The Beautiful Letdown embraced a human story equally full of highs and lows.” He said\, “The journey reminded us why we started playing music in the first place. It united us and gave us a deep appreciation for each other and the people that showed up to sing with us.” \nTo celebrate the release of The Beautiful Letdown is a journey on the road to play the album front to back for the first time ever.

SUMMARY:Old Butler Day
DESCRIPTION:What began decades ago as a reunion of those who once lived in and near the town of Old Butler\, is now a time of honoring the resilience of the people who lived through one of the darkest periods of Johnson County’s history. On Saturday\, October 7\, 2023\, almost 75 years since the waters all but erased the town of Butler\, locals and visitors will gather to remember its past while celebrating the vibrant future of this beautiful area of the state. \nOld Butler Day\, a family-friendly festival sponsored annually by the Butler Ruritan\, will be hosted on the grounds of the Babe Curtis Park. Festival attendees will enjoy great food\, music\, vendors and experience life in Old Butler through tours at the Museum of Butler and the W.S. Stout store located at the park. As visitors tour the museum\, the historical exhibits bring to life the early days of Old Butler and depict the extraordinary effort in relocating this small town\, showing why it is known as “the town that would not drown”.

SUMMARY:Niswonger Performing Arts Center: Shenandoah
DESCRIPTION:Shenandoah\n\n\n\n\nWhen country music lovers talk about the greatest groups in the genre\, Shenandoah is always at the forefront of any discussion. Fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship\, Shenandoah became well known for delivering such hits as “Two Dozen Roses\,” “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You\, Next to Me” as well as such achingly beautiful classics as “I Want to be Loved Like That” and the GRAMMY® winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss. \nShenandoah has recorded 10 studio albums (three certified Gold) and placed 26 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The boys from Muscle Shoals have left a potent legacy at country radio with over a dozen No. 1 records and such enduring hits as “Ghost in This House\,” “Rock My Baby\,” “Janie Baker’s Love Slave\,” “If Bubba Can Dance (I Can Too)\,” written by Raybon and McGuire\, and “Her Leavin’s Been a Long Time Comin.”
