SUMMARY:Birthplace of Country Music Museum: Malpass Brothers Concert
DESCRIPTION:1927 SOCIETY CONCERT: MALPASS BROTHERS\nAUG 10 – 7:00PM TO 9:00PM\nThe Birthplace of Country Music proudly presents a very special 1927 Society Concert experience with The Malpass Brothers. \nDate: Friday\, August 10\, 2018 \nTime: 7:00 p.m. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m.) \nLocation: Birthplace of Country Music Museum \nTickets: $80 \nTickets go on sale to 1927 Society Members on May 14. Tickets go on sale to the public June 14. Click here to learn more about how to become a 1927 Society member.\nBUY TICKETS \nThe 1927 Society Concert Series is an intimate concert experience set in the “acoustically perfect” Performance Theater at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. It’s more than a night of music\, it’s a very personal event with some of the most renowned roots music artists performing today. Guests are asked to arrive promptly at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy catering and adult beverages (for ages 21+ with valid ID) before the show\, included with ticket. \n \nAbout The Malpass Brothers\nAs young boys\, Christopher and Taylor Malpass soaked up the music of their granddad’s phonograph records. Christopher earned his first talent show trophy at age 7\, and Taylor was playing mandolin by the time he was 10. Today\, they promote the work and music of classic country artists they treasure while creating new music and making their own mark in the lineage of a rich American cultural heritage. \nWith sincerity\, honesty and an utter ease on stage that belies their years\, their smooth vocal blend and skillful musicianship layer infectiously into the deep respect they pay to legends who have paved the way. Add the funny\, off-the-cuff quips between the two 20-something siblings\, and the engaging concert becomes a magnetic time-traveling journey to when a calmer rhythm reigned supreme. \nThe Malpass Brothers toured with the late Don Helms\, former steel guitarist for Hank Williams\, have opened for music legend Merle Haggard on multiple tours and appeared on stages from the Shetland Islands to Ryman Auditorium to Merlefest. Gifted musicians and songwriters\, the brothers have shared billing with artists including Ray Price\, Willie Nelson\, Doyle Lawson\, Rhonda Vincent\, Marty Stuart\, Doc Watson and more. The title cut video from their “Memory That Bad” album hit CMT Pure Country’s Top Ten. Their most recent self-titled recording\, produced by bluegrass legend Doyle Lawson\, was released by Crossroads’ Organic Records in 2015.

SUMMARY:Billy Crawford Band
DESCRIPTION:About Billy Crawford Band\nBlues guitar might be associated with Mississippi\, Texas and Chicago\, but a man of the mid-South has something to say about that. The city of Bristol\, smack on the Tennessee/Virginia border\, claims itself as the birthplace of country music. But one of its native sons is making a huge blues noise.\nThe common denominator in all of this is Billy Crawford – raised playing bass in church\, then gaining an early hard-rock pedigree on electric guitar. But for the past three decades\, he has turned his six-string action toward the blues.\nFor much of the 1990s\, audiences around the world heard Crawford’s intense work with blues-rocker Deborah Coleman. He gave up the road in 2002\, when his wife gave birth to their son. Turns out\, son Tyler is a little guitar hotshot\, too.\nBut his daddy still has something to say. His Bristol-based Billy Crawford Band includes some of that region’s finest blues men. The fire is still burning blue from Crawford’s Guitar\, as he rips through blues\, ballads\, rock\, surf – even New Orleans-style.\nUnderpinning it all is a band with plenty of energy and mastery of dynamics. Go to thebillycrawfordband.com to hear and see more and find out when the band is playing in your town.

SUMMARY:Sounds of Summer: Appalachian Trail
DESCRIPTION:Appalachian Trail was formed around 1984. Original members Linda Lay and Carson Cooper were traveling to their first show and did not have a name for the band when they saw a sign that read “Appalachian Trail” and decided on that until they thought of something better but the name has lasted and fitting it is… 30 years later\, the band is still burning new trails in the bluegrass arena. This band helped cultivate the careers of the likes of Adam Steffey\, John Bowman\, Becky Buller and countless others.

SUMMARY:Radio Bristol Premieres
DESCRIPTION:About Folk Soul Revival \nA modern band rooted in old-school southern sounds\, Folk Soul Revival whips up its own version of amplified Americana on the band’s self-titled fourth record. \nThe name says it all. Folk Soul Revival\, like the band that created it\, is an album that celebrates the sounds\, stories\, and small-town values of an earlier era\, modernizing their approach with sharp songwriting and electrifying instrumental work. There’s country twang\, bluegrass bounce\, hillbilly hell-raising\, chicken-pickin’ guitar\, and roadhouse roots-rock\, all sandwiched into a tracklist that mixes heartbreak\, honesty\, and humor in equal doses. Recorded in Nashville and road-tested on stages across the country\, this is Folk Soul Revival’s finest work — an album that nods to the glory days of the past while still pushing the band forward.
