Finalists will also win a branded commemorative Taylor guitar\, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year\, a two-night stay in Nashville\, a $100 gift card for travel and a one-year membership to Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). \nJudges for this year’s events include musicians\, radio show hosts\, publishers\, Grammy-nominated producers\, powerhouse sister duo Tigirlily Gold\, singer-songwriter Alex Hall\, songwriter Adam Brown\, singer-songwriter and producer Anthony Smith\, American Country Music Artist Butch Baker\, independent soul artist Talibah Safiya\, musician and entrepreneur McKenzii Webster\, representatives from The Bluebird Cafe\, NSAI\, CMT and more. Judges consider lyric originality\, performance and connection with the audience. \nFormer showcase winners continue to build their careers touring\, performing and writing new music like bop artist Harzee from Memphis\, who is working on a new album; Chattanooga’s alternative blues and indie singer-songwriter Katrina Barclay\, who co-writes and collaborates with local musicians; Middle Tennessee’s Jacob Rice\, who is currently on tour; and Maura Streppa\, whose music has been recognized by American Songwriter\, Billboard and iHeart Radio’s “Women of Country.” Hear from past participants on what Tennessee Songwriters Week means to them. \nDiscover the story of Tennessee from the ones who are writing it. Helmed by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development\, Tennessee Songwriters Week supports music venues\, provides songwriters with live performance opportunities\, drives visitation and inspires travelers to experience the state’s music stories\, history\, attractions and venues. SUMMARY:Niswonger Performing Arts Center: Sawyer Brown
DESCRIPTION:Sawyer Brown\n\n\n\n\nMore than 4500 shows and counting\, and a million miles behind them\, Sawyer Brown is still seeing the highway miles click by outside their bus window. The band has produced 23 albums with more than 50 chart singles and loads of CMA\, ACM and CMT awards on the shelf. To pull a line from one of the band’s enduring hits: “This is the life and times of a travelin’ band\,” Sawyer Brown is a traveling band\, indeed. Always on the move—on the road\, on stage and in their career. When asked about what keeps him motivated on the road\, lead singer Mark Miller says\, “It’s playing the next show. Be grateful for where you’ve been and be excited about where you’re going.” \nSawyer Brown is Mark Miller\, keyboardist Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard\, lead guitarist Shayne Hill\, and drummer Joe Smyth. Mark and his band mates have been singing hits like “Step That Step\,” “Shakin’\,” “Betty’s Bein’ Bad\,” “The Race is On\,” and the band’s second No. 1 hit “Some Girls Do” with unmatched energy and excitement since they first stepped foot on stage in the early 80s.  Mark says\, “We knew that we wanted to play music and we knew that we wanted to work at being the best live band there was—and the only way to do that was to get out and play shows. And so we did.”

SUMMARY:Niswonger Performing Arts Center: The American ELO
DESCRIPTION:Evil Woman – The American ELO\n\n\n\n\nThe Electric Light Orchestra Experience Featuring Evil Woman is widely recognized as the world’s premier tribute to ELO due to their brilliant arrangements\, flawless musicianship and superlative vocals. Picking up where The Beatles left off in 1970\, the UK-based ELO expanded the concept of great melodies\, epic song structures and grand orchestrations where cellos coexisted with guitars\, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled\, radio-friendly pop songs resulting in ELO becoming one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and perhaps even more so today. \nAudiences are left spellbound by the flawless musicianship and vocals of Evil Woman’s 12 musicians. A multi-media concert celebration of the music of ELO\, you’ll hear instantly recognizable chart-topping hit songs like “Mr. Blue Sky\,” “Roll Over Beethoven\,” “Evil Woman\,” “Telephone Line\,” “Xanadu\,” “Livin’ Thing\,” “Don’t Bring Me Down\,” and many others.

SUMMARY:Niswonger Performing Arts Center: Anthem Lights
DESCRIPTION:Anthem Lights\n\n\n\n\nAt the heart of most success stories lies a framework of brand invention\, the creation of a persona or x-factor that raises an artist above the noise. But for pop vocal group Anthem Lights\, it is reinvention that’s catapulted the talented foursome to nearly 500 million YouTube views and over two million monthly listeners on streaming services. The indie group’s success is due in large part to the foursome’s vocal prowess (Caleb Grimm\, Chad Graham\, Spencer Kane\, and Joey Stamper are all exceptional singers)\, creative mash-ups and reinventions of pop hits and beloved hymns. \n“I think the most unique thing about us is that we do all kinds of music\,” shares Graham. “We do everything from a hymns medley to a Drake cover to a year-end mash-up. Our musical diversity is our identity.” Anthem Lights produces a wide variety of new covers\, original songs and video content every month\, a perfected mix that keeps their fans engaged.
