DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, November 18 th Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park will hold the Overmountain\nChristmas Open House from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. This is the perfect occasion to kick off the\nholiday season with the whole family. Enjoy Christmas themed stories and trivia\, and sing along\nwith the Colonial Christmas Carolers. The Sabine Hill Social Society will present English\ncountry dancing demonstrations. Participate in making a Christmas craft project and stroll\nthrough the Winterfest Art Show exhibit by the Watauga Valley Art League.\nTake the opportunity to do some early Christmas Shopping in our book and gift shop and visit\nwith local crafters and makers for unique\, one-of-a-kind gifts. Vendors’ products will include\nhandmade soaps\, jewelry\, greeting and note cards\, baked goods\, handcrafted bowls\, and wood\nturnings.\nFor a special holiday treat make sure to take a horse drawn carriage ride through the park\ngrounds. Carriage rides will be offered from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM and are free of charge\ncourtesy of Food City and Jersey Mike’s. Also\, don’t miss the chance to visit with the Jolly Old\nElf himself\, Santa Claus!\nGet into the Christmas spirit and join us for the Overmountain Christmas Open house. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, Nov. 18 | 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.\n$20 + tax/fee   \nJoin us at the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace on Saturday\, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. for a special night of music! The Blue Ridge Opry is a nostalgic country music variety show inspired by the early days of the Grand Ole Opry and the heyday of classic country stars like Patsy Cline\, Hank Williams\, Uncle Dave Macon\, The Carter Family\, and more. The program is hosted and produced by singer and multi-instrumentalist Kelley Breiding and features a variety of musical guest stars\, comedy\, and dancers from the Blue Ridge Mountains. \nThe Blue Ridge Opry performance on November 18 will feature regional women in old-time music as a celebration of our current special exhibit\, I’ve Endured: Women in Old Time Music\, on display through December 31\, 2023. The event is in partnership with the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center.
