SUMMARY:National Storytelling Festival
DESCRIPTION:Every October since 1973\, thousands of travelers have visited Tennessee’s oldest town. They come for one purpose–to hear stories and to tell them at the National Storytelling Festival. This celebration of America’s rich and varied storytelling tradition\, the oldest and most respected gathering anywhere in America devoted to storytelling\, has in turn spawned a national revival of this venerable art. ISC is excited to welcome you to the storytelling capital of the world October 4-6\, 2024 to celebrate the power of storytelling.

SUMMARY:Jack-o-Lantern Drive Thru
DESCRIPTION:As part of Jonesborough’s spooky October events and Halloween Haunts & Happenings on October 31\, the Town will host a Jack-o-Lantern Drive Thru. The pumpkins will be lit and on display along Main Street from Tuesday\, October 29 through Thursday\, October 31.\nPumpkins can be picked up at the Visitors Center\, located at 117 Boone Street on Saturday\, October 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday\, October 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pumpkins will be handed out on a first come\, first served basis.\nOnce pumpkins are craved\, they can be dropped off at the Visitors Center on Monday\, October 28 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. or Tuesday\, October 29 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Craved pumpkin dropped off during these times will be qualified for judging and prizes. Participants who want their Jack-O-Lantern judged in the contest must write their name\, phone number\, and which category they are entering on the bottom of the pumpkin with a marker. There will be two categories for entering the contest: 12 and under and 13 and over. Jack-o-lantern contest winners will be announced on the Main Street Jonesborough’s Facebook and Instagram pages\, so set a reminder to check those to see if you’ve won. Pumpkins dropped off after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday\, October 29 will not qualify for the contest\, but can be dropped off at the courthouse to be included in the display around the Town.\nFor more information about the Jack-o-Lantern Drive Thru\, call 423.753.1010 or visit JBOHalloween.com.\n#####
