DESCRIPTION:Tractor enthusiasts from across the South will make a trip to Northeast Tennessee for the 33rd Annual Appalachian Antique Farm Show April 23-26 at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray\, Tenn.\, hosted by the Tri-State Antique Power Association. \n\n\n\nIn an event that has grown to showcase hundreds of rare and popular tractors over the years\, including features from Brian Baxter with the RFDTV series Tractor Fever.  The agriculture inspired television network has featured the Appalachian Antique Farm Show and Northeast Tennessee for a number of years on the classic show dedicated to tractors\, enthusiasts and events across the United States. \n\n\n\nEach year the Appalachian Antique Farm Show is dedicated to a specific make\, model or style of tractor.  The 2026 Appalachian Antique Farm Show will feature the Farmall brand. Along with the featured tractors\, exhibits of all makes and models will include antique tractors\, steam\, gas\, hit and miss antique engines\, stationary steam engines\, threshing machines\, gristmill\, antique farm tools\, live steam saw mill\, belted equipment demonstrations and other farm related equipment. \n\n\n\n\n\nEach year the show features a specific make\, model or style of tractor.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe full weekend of activities include a flea market complete with arts and crafts\, antiques\, farm and tractor memorabilia\, commercial vendors\, new and used farm equipment parts within the swap meet area\, a quilt show and tradition inspired farm games such as a Skillet Throws and a Barn Dance. DESCRIPTION:This will be the 67th year that naturalists and those that love nature have been gathering at Roan Mountain for the Roan Mountain Spring Naturalists Rally. This spring’s rally is set to be one of the finest with evening speakers\, Ingrid Luffman and Lisa Benish\, lunchtime activities\, a lunchtime program by Cade Campbell\, a lunchtime slide show and a great variety of field trips over the entire weekend. All activities at the rally are family-friendly\, and there are a variety of difficulty levels. This rally\, and all rallies\, are sponsored by the Friends of Roan Mountain and would not be possible without many volunteers and the support of Roan Mountain State Park.\nMembers of the Friends of Roan Mountain are admitted to all weekend activities at no charge\, with the exception of meals. She has degrees in Mathematics\, Earth Sciences\, and a PhD in Geography from University of Tennessee. A transplant from Canada\, she has taught at ETSU for 28 years\, and is a founding member of the Boone Watershed Partnership\, a local non-profit that identifies and addresses water resources concerns in the Boone Watershed. Recently\, the partnership completed forest restoration work at Jacob’s Nature Park in Johnson City to eliminate hundreds of invasive plants and replace them with over 400 native plants; volunteers contributed over 800 hours to the project.\nProgram Description: \nIn September 2024\, Hurricane produced high winds and torrential rains in the NC headwaters of several TN streams\, leading to flooding that scoured channels and floodplains\, removed riparian forests\, and destroyed homes and sanitary infrastructure. When extreme weather events occur\, as a hydrologist and geoscientist\, I try to understand the nature and magnitude of the event by evaluating damage to critical infrastructure and by using data to estimate how often events of this magnitude might recur in our communities. This program describes work done by ETSU Geoscientists in the days and months following Hurricane Helene.\n\nSaturday Evening Program:\nDiscovering the Blue Ridge: Place-Based Nature Education at Blue Ridge Discovery Center\nby Lisa Benish\n \nLisa Benish is an environmental educator and the Executive Director of the Blue Ridge Discovery Center (BRDC) in southwest Virginia. With a passion for place-based learning and conservation\, she leads BRDC’s efforts to connect people of all ages to the natural world through hands-on science\, outdoor exploration\, and stewardship programming. Lisa works closely with educators\, naturalists\, and community partners to develop immersive programs that highlight the ecological richness of the Blue Ridge region\, including forests\, wetlands\, streams\, meadows\, and pollinator habitats. Her work focuses on fostering curiosity\, conservation ethics\,and access to meaningful nature experiences for rural and underserved communities. \nProgram Description:                                            \nThe Blue Ridge Discovery Center (BRDC) is a regional hub for environmental education and wildlife discovery in southwest Virginia. SUMMARY:33rd Annual Appalachian Antique Power Association and Farmer's Reunion
DESCRIPTION:Tractor enthusiasts from across the South will make a trip to Northeast Tennessee for the 33rd Annual Appalachian Antique Farm Show April 23-26 at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray\, Tenn.\, hosted by the Tri-State Antique Power Association. \n\n\n\nIn an event that has grown to showcase hundreds of rare and popular tractors over the years\, including features from Brian Baxter with the RFDTV series Tractor Fever.  The agriculture inspired television network has featured the Appalachian Antique Farm Show and Northeast Tennessee for a number of years on the classic show dedicated to tractors\, enthusiasts and events across the United States. \n\n\n\nEach year the Appalachian Antique Farm Show is dedicated to a specific make\, model or style of tractor.  The 2026 Appalachian Antique Farm Show will feature the Farmall brand. Along with the featured tractors\, exhibits of all makes and models will include antique tractors\, steam\, gas\, hit and miss antique engines\, stationary steam engines\, threshing machines\, gristmill\, antique farm tools\, live steam saw mill\, belted equipment demonstrations and other farm related equipment. \n\n\n\n\n\nEach year the show features a specific make\, model or style of tractor.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe full weekend of activities include a flea market complete with arts and crafts\, antiques\, farm and tractor memorabilia\, commercial vendors\, new and used farm equipment parts within the swap meet area\, a quilt show and tradition inspired farm games such as a Skillet Throws and a Barn Dance. Other popular events include the Parade of Power throughout the Appalachian Fairgrounds\, various equipment demonstrations and the kiddie pedal tractor race and pull. \n\n\n\nAll exhibits will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday\, Friday and Saturday\, and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is $5\, children ages 12 and under are free\, with a special senior rate of $4 on Thursday only. \n\n\n\n \nThe 33rd Annual Appalachian Antique Farm Show is hosted by the Tri-State Antique Power Association and sponsored by Food City. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Tri-State Antique Power Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving agricultural history through the restoration of antique farm equipment. Tri-State Antique Power Association supports the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital\, the Shriners Children’s Hospital for Crippled Children and other local charities including the Ronald McDonald House. TSAPA hosts the Annual Appalachian Antique Farm Show the last full weekend in April each year.

This year’s event will feature food trucks\, fireworks\, live music and more! Red\, White & BOOM will take place on Main Street in the Centennial Park area of downtown Kingsport. \n\nActivities will take place throughout the afternoon and evening on Main Street. More than a dozen food trucks will line the street and many downtown restaurants will have modified hours to stay open longer. New this year\, we’re excited to announce a hot dog eating contest\, in partnership with Hot Dog Hut\, and a kids’ watermelon eating contest. SUMMARY:Stories from the Pumpkin Patch
DESCRIPTION:The Stories from the Pumpkin Patch will feature several storytellers from the Jonesborough International Story Tellers Guild. These storytellers will be telling tales of old folk lore\, Fall time stories\, and good family fables. During the daylight hours\, various Fall and Halloween crafts will be available for kids. There will be various Halloween themed face paintings at $2 for children of all ages. If you dare\, visitors can explore the site’s ancient and spooky cave. A hayride around the site will be provided by Johnson City Kubota. Hot apple cider will be heated to perfection and served out of the mid-nineteenth century George Haynes cabin. The Tipton-Haynes house will be open for visitors to leisurely stroll through the historic halls and rooms. Several local vendors will be selling their homemade crafts while food trucks will allow visitors to have a picnic.\nAdmission is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Tipton-Haynes members are free!
