SUMMARY:Jeeps on Main & Jerky Fest
DESCRIPTION:Jeeps on Main & Jerky Fest\nCelebrating 245 years of Tennessee’s oldest town on Labor Day Monday! \nJoin us Labor Day Monday in Historic Jonesborough for the first annual Jeeps on Main & Jerky Fest from 12 – 4 pm. There will be different categories for jeep owners and a people’s choice award for best Jeep.\n \nMain Street will be filled with colorful Jeeps and downtown merchants will be offering over 40 types of jerky. \nJeep Adventure Park will offer games for all ages and you can enjoy nostalgia with Bigfoot Classic croquet. A duck  race will also take place at 3 pm. \nThe event will also offer the unique and fairly new tradition of Jeep ducking.  Included with tickets are ducks that people can place on the hood of Jeeps along Main Street. The Jeep with the most ducks on the hood will win the people’s choice award. \nWhat is Jeep Ducking?  Jeep ducking is a fun and lighthearted tradition among Jeep  owners where they attach rubber ducks to their dashboard. These rubber ducks come in various shapes\, sizes and designs\, adding a whimsical touch to the vehicle’s appearance. \nThe practice of Jeep Ducking originated in a small town in Canada in 2020. A woman named Allision Parliament\, from Ontario\, randomly bought a bunch of rubber ducks from a convenience store and gave one to another Jeep owner with a note that said\, “Have a Great Day.” The intent was to bring a smile to the individual and spread a little cheer that we all needed during the pandemic. \nThis small interaction turned out much better than expected. The Jeep owner walked out of the store and at first\, was confused when he saw a rubber duck being placed on his Jeep. However\, after reading the note that was left behind\, it put a huge smile on his face. That night\, DuckDuckJeep was born after being posted on Instagram and the rest is history. \nA limited number of Main Street Jeep parking will be available. Tickets go on sale Monday\, August 19. Visit Jonesborough.com to purchase tickets . Check in will be at the former Jonesborough Middle School at 308 Forest Drive beginning at 11:30 am. For more information please contact T McLeod (McLeod Organics) at 704-792-6622 or Jeff Gurley (The Lollipop Shop ) 423-913–2663. The event is sponsored by the Jonesborough Area Merchants Association. \nThere are two different ticket options: \n\nJeeps on Main (Jeep Owners Only)\n$30 – Includes:  Main Street parking\, custom Jeeps on Main duck\, 5 jerky fest tickets\, Retro Arcade free play at The Lollipop Shop\, merchant discounts for Jeep owners. \nJerky Fest\n10 tickets / $10\nJerky sampling at merchants\nJeep adventure game park with classic backyard games
