SUMMARY:56th Annual Jonesborough Days Festival
DESCRIPTION:On July 3 and 4\, 2026\, Tennessee’s Oldest Town celebrates the 56th Annual Jonesborough Days Festival. For two days\, downtown is filled with music\, food\, handmade goods\, family activities\, and fireworks. It is one of the most loved Independence Day traditions in Northeast Tennessee. \nThis year’s America 250 theme adds even more meaning as the nation moves toward its 250th anniversary. In Jonesborough\, you do not have to look for the history. It is already there when you walk downtown. \n \nThe Parade Runs Straight Through Main Street \nThings kick off July 3 at 10 a.m. with the Jonesborough Days Parade on Historic Main Street. Floats\, music\, and local groups move through downtown as people line the sidewalks. \nMost folks bring a chair and find a spot along the route. People start showing up early and Main Street just keeps filling in. \nBy the time it starts\, the whole street is already buzzing. \n  \n \nDowntown Is the Experience\nDuring the festival\, downtown Jonesborough becomes the heart of everything happening. \nLive music and storytelling take place at the Jackson Theatre throughout the day. Just steps away\, more than 50 vendor booths line the streets with handmade goods like pottery\, jewelry\, soaps\, spoon rings\, and local art. \nFood trucks and festival favorites are spread throughout downtown\, so it is easy to grab something and keep walking around. \n  \n \nSomething for Every Age\, All Weekend Long\nPatriot Park\, located behind the International Storytelling Center\, is a favorite stop for families. Kids will find inflatables\, water play\, and hands on crafts from the McKinney Center. \nAnd yes\, the 8th Annual MoonPie Eating Contest is back again. It is messy\, funny\, and always draws a crowd. \n  \n \nMade by Hand\, Found in Downtown Jonesborough\nOne of the best parts of Jonesborough Days is how much of it is made by hand. \nVendors bring in everything from pottery and jewelry to soaps\, art\, and unique gifts. You can take your time walking around and see what catches your eye. \n \nA New Addition for America 250 \nThis year also brings something new. \nJonesborough Days 2026 American-Made Classic Car Show will take place on July 3 in the Washington County Library parking lot. It is part of the America 250 celebration and highlights vintage American vehicles and the craftsmanship behind them. \n \nStay for the Fireworks\nEach evening brings live music from 8 to 10 p.m. on the Main Stage. \nThen on July 4 at 10 p.m.\, the festival ends with fireworks over downtown Jonesborough. It is a simple moment\, but one that brings the whole weekend together. \n\n\nPlan Your Visit\nJonesborough Days takes place July 3 to 4\, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Admission is free. \nFor full details and updates\, visit JonesboroughDays.com. \n

SUMMARY:Farm and Fun Time
DESCRIPTION:BRISTOL\, TN-VA – The Birthplace of Country Music Museum will present Radio Bristol’s Farm and Fun Time\, with musical guests Belle Frantz and Andrew Sa in the acoustically perfect intimate Performance Theater on Thursday\, July 16 at 7 p.m. \n  \nHosted by Kris Truelsen & Country Casserole\, Farm and Fun Time is a re-imagining of the classic WYCB Radio program of the same name that aired in the 1940s and 1950s. Radio Bristol’s Farm and Fun Time broadcasts live before a studio audience and recorded for television syndication on more than 143 PBS channels across the United States. It can be accessed on 100.1 FM in the Bristol area\, or online at ListenRadioBristol.org and on Radio Bristol’s free mobile app. Viewers may also tune in to watch through Radio Bristol’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. \n  \nHailing from Greenwood Springs\, Mississippi\, Belle Frantz is an independent artist bringing the classic country charm to today’s music scene. Her music has been featured in the hit show Landman and her debut EP\, “Why I Sing This Way” was a collection of covers paying respect to some of her heroes including Reba McEntire\, Conway Twitty and George Jones. She was recently a writer on a Vince Gill song “Lonely’s What I Do” and released the first piece of a project called “Hymns From a Barstool”\, inspired by the gospel music that shaped her sound today. She’s toured with Willie Nelson\, Alabama\, The Castellows and Tracy Lawrence\, and is looking forward to headlining venues of her own soon. \n  \nAndrew Sa steps confidently into the spotlight with his debut album American Rough\, out on June 26 via Bloodshot Records. After growing up in the Bay learning to sing along to classic country hits\, Sa eventually moved to Chicago to further his songwriting education through a class at the Old Town School of Folk Music\, and went on to meet the collaborators that shaped his musical career in Chicago for the years to come: Liam Kazar and Sully Davis. It was Davis who first invited Sa to open for the legendary queer country band Lavender Country at The Hideout and also tapped him for the brilliantly campy music revue Cosmic Country Showcase\, started by Davis and Dorian Gehring in 2018. It was largely through Cosmic Country that Sa became a sought-after voice in Chicago’s independent music scene\, enveloping audiences with his signature\, siren-like croon and delectable charm. \n  \nHost Kris Truelsen has spent the better part of the last two decades touring across the U.S.\, honing his craft as a songwriter and performer. With his latest project fronting Country Casserole\, he leans into the rock n’ roll side of country music. It’s rowdy\, loose\, and unmistakably Kris. The band features an all star lineup including JP Parsons (guitar)\, Rebecca Branson Jones (pedal steel)\, Sarah Griffin (bass)\, and Levi Trent (drums). \n  \nTickets to the show are $48.69 (includes applicable taxes and fees) and may be purchased through the Events page at BirthplaceOfCountryMusic.org. \n  \nSpecial thanks to Blue Ridge PBS\, and our underwriters including the City of Bristol\, Tennessee\, The Bristol Hotel\, Eastman Credit Union\, Permatile Concrete Products Company\, and News 5 WCYB. Closed captioning made possible by Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards.

SUMMARY:Bristol Sessions Nights
DESCRIPTION:BRISTOL\, Tenn. – Organizers of Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 announced today that tickets for the yearlong cultural series celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1927 Bristol Sessions will now cost $27 per event\, a move designed to make the experience accessible to a wider audience as Bristol prepares for one of the most significant milestones in American music history. \n\nThe reduced ticket price is made possible through support from cornerstone sponsors including Tennessee Hills Distillery\, the Tennessee Entertainment Commission\, and additional regional partners committed to expanding access to the series while preserving its intentionally intimate format. Attendance for each event will remain capped at 100 guests. \n\nA full-series passport covering all twelve events is now available for $300. \n\nBeginning May 22\, 2026\, and continuing through April 2027\, Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 will guide audiences through the music\, stories\, and cultural legacy born from the 1927 Bristol Sessions\, recognized by the U.S. Congress as the single most important event in the history of country music. Those original sessions launched the careers of The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers and helped shape a genre that continues to influence American culture nearly a century later. \n\n“Today\, Tennessee’s music industry is a globally recognized brand generating billons annually to the state’s economy\,” said Tennessee Entertainment Commission Executive Director Bob Raines. “The Tennessee Entertainment Commission is honored to be supporting the Bristol Sessions Nights series and lead up to the 100th year celebration of the big bang of country music.” \n\nHosted inside the historic L.C. King Building in downtown Bristol\, the series is designed as an immersive storytelling experience combining live music\, history\, conversation\, and regional culture in an intimate setting. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with programming beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. \n\n“As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Bristol Sessions\, we recognize that this isn’t just something to celebrate; it’s something to elevate\, and that’s what Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 is all about\,” said Bristol\, Tennessee Mayor Vince Turner. “These event nights are also an opportunity to lift up our local businesses; our restaurants\, shops\, and other small business owners who are such an essential part of what makes Bristol special. Come early for shopping and dining\, stay for the unforgettable music experience\, and stick around after to experience everything our downtown has to offer.” \n\nThe twelve-night series unfolds in three acts\, each exploring a different chapter in the evolution and impact of the Bristol Sessions: \n\nAct I: The Recordings (May–July 2026) – Immersive origin stories revisiting 1927 and the birth of country music.\nAct II: The Evolution (August–December 2026) – How Bristol’s spark shaped bluegrass\, songwriting\, and mountain music traditions across a century.\nAct III: The Road to 100 (January–April 2027) – Rising energy\, new voices\, and expanded programming leading into the centennial.\n\n\nThe journey culminates in May 2027 with the inaugural Bristol Sessions Festival\, a Memorial Day Weekend celebration commemorating 100 years since the recordings that changed music forever. \n\nThe full schedule of nights is as follows: \n\n\n\n\nNight\n\nDate\n\nTitle\n\nTheme\n\n\n\n1\n\nMay 22\, 2026\n\nThe First Take\n\nSeries Kickoff / Songwriter Round\n\n\n\n2\n\nJun 19\, 2026\n\nThe Carter Sessions\n\nCarter Family Legacy\n\n\n\n3\n\nJul 17\, 2026\n\nThe Blue Yodel\n\nJimmie Rodgers & Early Roots\n\n\n\n4\n\nAug 21\, 2026\n\nA True Taste of Tennessee\n\nFull Sensory Journey of Local Music\, Food/Spirits Pairings\n\n\n\n5\n\nSep 18\, 2026\n\nMountain Songs\n\nAppalachian Roots Showcase\n\n\n\n6\n\nOct 16\, 2026\n\nThe Pickers\n\nBluegrass & Instrumental Virtuosity\n\n\n\n7\n\nNov 20\, 2026\n\nHer Song\n\nWomen of Country Music\n\n\n\n8\n\nDec 18\, 2026\n\nThe Holiday Sessions\n\nAcoustic Holiday Heritage\n\n\n\n9\n\nJan 15\, 2027\n\nNew Voices\n\nNext-Generation Tennessee Songwriters\n\n\n\n10\n\nFeb 19\, 2027\n\nOutlaws & Renegades\n\nOutlaw & Modern Country\n\n\n\n11\n\nMar 19\, 2027\n\nThe Echoes\n\nBristol’s Lasting Impact\n\n\n\n12\n\nApr 16\, 2027\n\nThe Gathering\n\nPre-Finale Celebration\n\n\n\n★\n\nMay 28-29\, 2027\n\nThe 100th Session\n\nCentennial Festival / Grand Finale\n\n\n\n\n  \nAdditional details\, including ticket information\, are available at bristolsessionsfestival.com. \n  \nAbout Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 \nBristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 is a 12-night cultural series produced by the City of Bristol\, Tennessee in partnership with the ETSU Appalachian Music Collective\, the ETSU Department of Appalachian Studies\, and Tennessee Hills Distillery.
