DESCRIPTION:Bays Mountain Park announces StarWatch\, SunWatch programs\nBays Mountain Park is pleased to announce the return of its popular sky viewing programs – StarWatch and SunWatch.\nStarWatch sessions allow the public to enjoy the splendor of the night sky at Bays Mountain Park’s observatories. If the weather is good\, attendees can typically see star clusters\, nebulous gas clouds\, colorful multiple-star systems\, distant galaxies and the Moon and planets.\nIf the weather is poor\, the park will have an alternate activity in the planetarium theater.\nStarWatch sessions will be held on the following dates:\n\nMarch 7 at 7 p.m.\nMarch 14\, 21\, and 28 at 8 p.m.\nApril 4\, 11\, 18\, and 25 at 8:30 p.m.\n\nNote – please arrive at the beginning of the program so you can find your way to the observatories. Be sure to dress for temperatures at least 20 degrees cooler than expected and do not use white light flashlights at the observing grounds.\nDuring SunWatch sessions\, participants can safely view the Sun’s surface\, lower atmosphere and sunspots using special telescopes at the Bays Mountain dam. SunWatch observations are held on clear Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.\, March through October.\nThe programs are free to the public (with a $7 park entrance fee).
