DESCRIPTION:Are you ready for another amazing season at the Kingsport Farmers Market? We certainly are and we are kicking off the opening day with giveaways\, activities for the kids and live music for everyone to enjoy.\nThe Kingsport Farmers Market (located at 308 Clinchfield Street) will open for the 2025 season on April 26. Opening day events and activities include:\n\nA children’s activity from the Kingsport Public Library (beginning at 8:30 a.m.).\nFree tomato seedlings for children (while supplies last).\nThe Kingsport Carousel opens at 10 a.m. (rides $1 each).\nFree shopping bags to color on-site for kids (while supplies last).\nLive music from Mike Milhorn and the Possum Chasers\n\nThe Kingsport Farmers Market will be open on Saturdays through the end of November and on Wednesdays beginning May 1 through the end of September. The hours are from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until produce and products are sold out.\nEach week\, expect to find fresh fruits and vegetables\, baked goods\, local meats\, artisan crafts\, fresh flowers and more at the Kingsport Farmers Market.\nPrograms returning to the Kingsport Farmers Market this year include Market Jams (live music monthly)\, Saturday’s with the Chef\, National Farmers Market Week/Tomato Fest\, our Fall Festival and a Seed Library (in conjunction with the Kingsport Public Library).\nThanks to a grant from the Appalachian Resource\, Conservation and Development Council\, the Kingsport Farmers market will continue its Farmacy Fit program with Healthy Kingsport and Double UP SNAP dollars for eligible participants.\nTo learn more about the Kingsport Farmers Market\, please visit kingsportfarmersmarket.org.\n \nAbout the Kingsport Farmers Market\nThe Kingsport Farmers Market\, part of the City of Kingsport\, manages the weekly markets at the Kingsport Farmers Market facility. SUMMARY:2nd Annual Kingsport Arts Festival
DESCRIPTION:Kingsport Cultural Arts is pleased to announce its 2nd annual Kingsport Arts Festival – a day showcasing the talents of our region’s best artists and creatives. \n\nThe festival will take place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 3 in the 100 block of Shelby Street and feature the following events and activities: \n\n\nIron Pour with WNC Sculpture\nGlassblowing with Ryan Gothrup\nCeramics Raku Firing with the Clay Gurus\nTie Dye festival shirts with Engage Kingsport\nChalk art and large canvas finger painting for kids\nMiniature painting with the Kingsport Library\n\n\nThe one-day festival will also feature more than a dozen vendors\, a gallery crawl and scavenger hunt\, a watercolor activity for adults and bucket drumming with the Symphony of the Mountains. \n\nFinally\, the festival will feature the debut of “The Carousel Horse Brigade” – six fiberglass carousel horses painted and decorated by local businesses and organizations\, similar to the 10 fiberglass goats shown during the 2023 GOAT Festival. \n\n“Our focus this year is still on creation and involvement\,” said Program Leader Linore Huss. “Showcasing creative techniques is something not typically found at other festivals\, so we believe people will come away excited and hopefully inspired by what they saw demonstrated.” \n\nThe Kingsport Arts Festival is a partnership between Kingsport Cultural Arts\, Engage Kingsport\, the Inventor Center\, Clay Gurus and the Symphony of the Mountains. \nAbout Kingsport Cultural Arts \nKingsport Cultural Arts connects\, coordinates and engages the public with a creative community.
