DESCRIPTION:If you’re looking for the heart of storytelling in the town that basically invented the modern revival of the art\, Stories ‘n More is where the magic happens. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHosted by the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild\, this weekly event is a staple of Tuesday nights in Tennessee’s oldest town. It’s less of a formal performance and more of a warm\, communal gathering where the oral tradition truly breathes. \n\n\nThe Atmosphere\nThe vibe is intimate and authentic. Held at the International Storytelling Center (or occasionally nearby local venues like the  McKinney Center)\, the evening feels like sitting in a very large\, very talented living room. \nWhat to Expect\n\n\nDiverse Tellers: You’ll hear from seasoned professionals who have graced national stages\, alongside guild members honing new material. \n\n\nThe “More” in the Name: While the focus is on spoken-word stories\, you’ll often find the night peppered with poetry\, acoustic music\, or personal tall tales. \n\n\nA Living Art: Unlike a recorded podcast\, these stories change based on the energy of the room. SUMMARY:Stories from the Pumpkin Patch
DESCRIPTION:The Stories from the Pumpkin Patch will feature several storytellers from the Jonesborough International Story Tellers Guild. These storytellers will be telling tales of old folk lore\, Fall time stories\, and good family fables. During the daylight hours\, various Fall and Halloween crafts will be available for kids. There will be various Halloween themed face paintings at $2 for children of all ages. If you dare\, visitors can explore the site’s ancient and spooky cave. A hayride around the site will be provided by Johnson City Kubota. Hot apple cider will be heated to perfection and served out of the mid-nineteenth century George Haynes cabin. The Tipton-Haynes house will be open for visitors to leisurely stroll through the historic halls and rooms. Several local vendors will be selling their homemade crafts while food trucks will allow visitors to have a picnic.\nAdmission is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Tipton-Haynes members are free!

DESCRIPTION:Witches Wynd at Exchange Place\nFriday\, October 16\, 8 pm until 10:30 pm\nSaturday\, October 17\, 8 pm until 10:30 pm \nThere is no more perfect introduction to the Halloween season than Witches Wynd\, the annual\nstorytelling event held within the historic buildings of Exchange Place. This unique and extremely\npopular event allows guests to hear Halloween-ish tales told by some of this region’s finest\nstorytellers. Afterwards\, there is a nightcap of sorts — cookies and hot cider are waiting for you on\nRoseland’s back porch\, a sweet way to end the evening. Tickets\, which are required\, cost $10 for\neveryone\, and are sold in advance\, beginning with the Fall Folk Arts Festival. Afterwards\, they can\nbe purchased by calling Exchange Place at 423-288-6071.
