SUMMARY:MercyMe
DESCRIPTION:Since their inception\, MercyMe’s Christian rock music has fueled a continual dialog both among people of faith and those who are grasping for it. Whether offering up encouragement\, or inciting random acts of kindness\, MercyMe creates music that enlightens\, entertains and invites community among a broad spectrum of people.\nMercyMe… the laid-back band from Greenville\, Texas\, quickly evolved from being Christian music’s fastest-selling new act in 2001 to one of the most successful bands in all musical genres. The band has since grown beyond its label as “a Christian band” and become nationally known as a great group that tackles such serious themes as God and love. Their music is appealing to both devout Christians who study the Bible and young teens who devour Rolling Stone \n\n\nDate:\n\nMay 10\, 2014

SUMMARY:Fossil & Artifact ID Night
DESCRIPTION:JOHNSON CITY – Did you find a rock or fossil while workers were digging your neighbor’s cellar?  Maybe you picked up something odd on a riverbank or beside the ocean.  Or\, perhaps\, you were even given a gift of a collection of fossils.  The East Tennessee State University and General Shale Brick Natural History Museum and Visitor Center at the Gray Fossil Site can help you find out what you have during “Fossil and Artifact ID Night.”\nOn Tuesday\, April 29\, from 4-6 p.m.\, members of the community may bring fossils\, rocks\, minerals\, and artifacts to be identified and photographed by the museum’s team of experts. Light refreshments will be served.\n“Because we have had such a great response to Fossil and Artifact ID Night\, we keep inviting more scientists to help identify finds\,” said Brett Woodward\, collections manager for the museum. “This time\, we will have a paleontologist\, an archaeologist and a geologist\, so we will be able to better identify more types of specimens.  Our team of scientists loves to see the public’s collections of fossils\, artifacts\, and rocks\, because it helps us to learn about the region’s past.”\nThe museum cannot appraise fossils or artifacts.\nThe museum is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and is located 1.8 miles off Exit 13 on Interstate 26. For more information or special assistance for those with disabilities\, call (866) 202-6223 or visit the museum at www.etsu.edu/naturalhistorymuseum.\n \n  \n\n\nDate:\n\nApril 29\, 2014
