SUMMARY:STEPHEN BENNETT\, HARP GUITARIST IN CONCERT
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with renowned harp guitarist Stephen Bennett at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Bennett will perform with a 1909 harp guitar and a new version of the instrument\, and will give background on these rare instruments. A skilled guitarist\, Bennett will also perform with a standard 6-string guitar and his 1930 National steel guitar\, choosing from a broad repertoire of well-known songs and his own compositions.\nA prolific and original guitarist\, Stephen Bennett has performed around the world and created a large body of recorded work ranging from solo guitar to his 2013 release The Nutcracker: Complete Ballet Score for Guitar Orchestra. His latest release is a collection of music for harp guitar titled Tone Poet.\nThe Toronto Fingerstyle Guitar Association once referred to Stephen as “the Jedi Master of Finger-style Guitar.” An Italian guitar festival promoter wrote: “What Stephen can do\, and few artists have this gift\, is to speak directly to your heart and to move your best feelings!” In performance and recordings\, Stephen’s life-long love affair with the guitar is apparent – and contagious!

SUMMARY:E.W. King House Tag Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Bristol Historical Association has scheduled a Tag Sale to be held at the E.W. King house on Saturday\, November 19\, from 10:00am to 5:00pm.  The house is located on the corner of Anderson and Seventh Streets in downtown Bristol.  Access to the sale will be from the rear of the building\, adjacent to the Ferguson Animal Hospital.\n \nThe association recently accepted an offer to sell the historic E.W. King house\, a landmark that was constructed in 1903 for Edward Washington King. The house was listed on the National Historical Register in 1999. In the late 1990’s the association began a campaign to restore the landmark into a local house museum but due to funding the plans were changed.  As a result the house was placed for sale. The plan for the museum\, and the later sale\, has been a labor of love for the association and many Bristolians.  As a result the BHA will be offering for sale a number of furnishings that have been stored for the planned house museum and other items de-accessioned from their collection.\n \nThis is a wonderful opportunity to purchase period Victorian furniture and other furnishings for your collection. Items include Eastlake chairs\, settee\, marble table\, and secretary\, a 1920’s Victrola phonograph\, White sewing machine\, patterned china\, glassware\, lamps\, home décor’\, and decorative books.  The original partner-desk from the E.W. King firm will also be available at this sale.\nContact Tim Buchanan\, president\, for details of the upcoming sale\, by e-mail\, buchanan03@bvu.net.

SUMMARY:RADIO BRISTOL PREMIERES: CALEB KLAUDER COUNTRY BAND W/REEB WILLMS
DESCRIPTION:Radio Bristol Premieres: Caleb Klauder Country Band with Reeb Willms at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum Tuesday\, November 15. Radio Bristol Premieres focuses on new recordings debuted before a live audience\, as well as a live broadcast and webcast on Radio Bristol. The band will highlight music from the new release Innocent Road.\nIf you don’t believe in reincarnation\, try listening to Caleb Klauder’s music. There’s little other explanation for why a small island Washingtonian can write\, play\, and sing music that sounds like it should be rolling out of a Great Depression honky-tonk. Born from the heart of Portland\, Oregon’s red-hot music scene\, Caleb Klauder’s music continues to challenge and transform how we think about roots music in America.\nPerforming Caleb’s praised original songs right alongside classics from George Jones\, The Louvin Brothers\, and Dolly Parton\, their live show is timeless\, fresh\, and alive. There is a drive to the music that makes it unique and captivating.
