SUMMARY:Rocky Horror Show
DESCRIPTION:Johnson City’s 2019 Fundraiser Show\, The Rocky Horror Show to\nperform at Conapalooza 2019 in Kingsport \nLive on stage at Johnson City Community Theatre October 17 th – November 2 nd \, 2019\nJOHNSON CITY\, TN – Johnson City Community Theatre (JCCT) is proud to announce that\nJohnson City Community Theatre will be at Conapalooza\, Friday\, October 11 th \, 2019 with a live\nperformance of The Rocky Horror Show. The performance begins at 10pm and is FREE to those\nwith tickets attending Conapalooza. \nThe production opens at Johnson City Community Theatre Thursday\, October 17 th \, and continues\nfor three weekends through Saturday\, November 2 nd . Thursday\, Friday and Saturday\nperformances are at 7:30 p.m. There will be one midnight performance on Saturday\, October\n26 th . Due to strong sexual themes\, parental discretion is advised. Anyone 17 or under must be\naccompanied by an adult. \nThe newly engaged Brad and Janet find themselves stranded after their car breaks down during a\nheavy downpour. With few options\, they make their way to the “castle” of Dr. Frank-N-Furter\nalong with his\, let’s just say\, eccentric entourage. The strait-laced Brad and Janet have no idea\nwhat this night has in store for them\, and this night is particularly special because Dr. Frank is\nunveiling his newest creation: Rocky. Innocence is lost as Brad and Janet give in to the seductive\ninfluence of their transvestite host. Nothing will be the same after this fateful night\, and the same\ngoes for the audience as they are transported into the life of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.\nThe Rocky Horror Show is the original production on which The Rocky Horror Picture Show is\nbased. The original production was produced in London in June of 1973\, the movie was created\nin 1975. The show provides plenty of audience partici … pation. \nGoody bags can be purchased at the door. For the safety of the actors and other audience\nmembers\, food props (hot dogs\, toast\, and rice\, etc.)\, water pistols\, and open flames are NOT\npermitted. You CAN\, however\, say the relevant audience participation lines to the cast.\nExamples are: When a character says “Brad Majors” on stage\, you can yell “asshole;” when a\ncharacter says “Janet Weiss” you yell “slut.” Other rules and guidelines will be gone over prior\nto each performance. \nGoody bags are $5 each\, they include a Johnson City Community Theatre flashlight\, noisemaker\,\nnewspaper\, toilet paper\, party hat\, playing cards\, and confetti. All this will be handed to you in a\nJohnson City Community Theatre bag. \nDue to JCCT being one of the only Thrust stage spaces in the state of Tennessee we have the\nunique ability to do something fun. In 2019\, we are offering 2 seats for every performance that\nare on stage. The cast will move you around and make you become part of the action of the\nshow. Giving you the best and most interactive seat of the show. These seats come with your\ngoody bag and special VIP Parking. \nJohnson City Community Theatre is Tennessee’s longest continuously running theater company.\nJCCT is a member-run 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that derives its support primarily from\nperformance proceeds\, charitable donations\, and the community. \nGeneral Admission tickets for The Rocky Horror Show are $20.00. VIP tickets are $25 and there\nare 2 available per show. Student\, senior\, and military discounts are available. Additional fees\nmay apply. Tickets are available to the public at www.jccommunitytheatre.org. \nPRESS CONTACT\nAngelica Ares\nBoard of Directors President\, Marketing & Publicity Chair\n(423) 943-3252 | aares@jccommunitytheatre.org
