SUMMARY:Map & Compass
DESCRIPTION:An accurate map and a precision compass can get you TOTALLY LOST\, unless you know how to use them! Come learn how to navigate PROPERLY with these classic outdoor tools. Come also and see how using map and compass encourages us to watch our surroundings\, instead of our cell phone screens. No need for batteries\, or satellite signal or cellphone towers – just keen eyes and careful attention!\nWe’ll supply both compasses and maps – you’ll supply your attentive senses. Each participant will also get to take home a “mini-topo map” of a local outdoor attraction. \nThis will be a basic introduction to map and compass. Weather permitting\, we’ll spend most of our time “out in the field.” So be sure to come dressed for the weather\, and with proper footwear for walking over uneven terrain. \nNote that attendance is limited\, and you MUST preregister to attend. \nhttps://reserve.tnstateparks.com/register/intro-to-map–compass-4-19?fbclid=IwAR1g6ybcQTect68Cm0fJ1AsKwUUFByXOFRmM8zDEJc_JZpQ8rQBl6r-BF7A
