SUMMARY:3rd Annual “Moonshiners” Powered Para Glider Event
DESCRIPTION:  \n3rd Annual “Moonshiners” Powered Para Glider event for 2019 at Johnson County Airport (6a4) in beautiful Mountain City\, Tennessee.\nAugust 1st to the 4th 2019 \nWe all had so much fun last year with the great turn out for some scenic mountain flying that we are inviting everyone to do it again this year. \nFor those that haven’t been here before\, we boast breathtaking mountainous views\, friendly locals\, interesting side amenities and a supporting Fixed Base Operator. Search the numerous YouTube videos from previous events to get the feel of what Mountain flying is all about. This general aviation airport is perfect for PPG operations with plenty of camping sites\, water hook up and waste water dump on-site. The option of staying at one of our many beautiful Bed in Breakfast Inns (listed below) or a hotel stay is right around the corner at the newly remodeled Americort hotel both options with reasonable rates. \nWith both asphalt and grass runways available for take offs and landings this year there will be live band\, fireworks for some night entertainment\, food and beverage service will be attempted again and 100LL aviation fuel and 2 stroke oil available in the FBO office. The date of this fly in will coincide with the “Tater Hill” free fly competition that is located only a few miles up the road for those that want to visit that event during the daytime. An FAA Notam will be implemented for safety concerns that alert general aviation aircraft of your presence in the area. The beginning of August usually has proven to be the best weather conditions around here but just in case there is two large hangars for equipment storage and shelter during the rare inclement weather. Please share this announcement with all your buddies to make this event another gathering to remember. \nFor liability reasons\, there will be no charge for event participation. Camping on property is $20.00 per night and for those that just want to park an equipment trailer on site is $10.00 per night. \nJohnson County Airport (6A4)\n611 Airport Rd.\nMountain City\, TN. 37683\nWww.johnsoncountyairport.com \nContacts:\nDave 423-727-1223 Airport manager\nBob 865-279-3161.
