He tells stories from the Hawaiian Monarchy and the Plantation Days as well as Asian folktales from all around the Pacific Rim.  He also shares stories of the Japanese American Experience of WWII.  Chung has performed at the Congress of Asian Storytellers in Singapore\, the International Gimistory Storytelling Festival in the Cayman Islands and the Bay Area Storytelling Festival\, among others.  He was awarded the first J.J. DESCRIPTION:Starring the award-winning actress\, singer and dancer Jasmine Guy and the acclaimed Avery Sharpe Trio\, Raisin’ Cane: A Harlem Renaissance Odyssey celebrates and honors the legendary voices of the Harlem Renaissance through literature\, song\, music\, movement and imagery. Guy and the Sharpe Trio take audiences back to post World War I America\, where a new generation of African-Americans was bursting with artistic expression\, seeking to illustrate the past and anticipate a better future. The original score is also by Sharpe\, who has toured with Wynton Marsalis\, Dizzy Gillespie\, Cab Calloway and Bobby McFerrin\, among others. Presented by the Mary B. Martin School of the Arts in partnership with the Wellmont Regional Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets for the event $25 Adult\, $20 Senior 60+\, $5 Student w/ ID  Note: This event was originally scheduled for Thursday\, November 12.
