The annual Heritage Day\, celebrating southern Appalachian heritage will provide a glimpse into daily mountain life in the early 1800s. Some of the living history exhibits using traditional and natural materials you will see include: Dutch oven cooking\, quilting\, fiber arts\, pottery\, beehives\, carving and cooking apple butter. See reenactors in period costume shelling corn\, churning butter\, playing the dulcimer\, and baking with a traditional wood-fired oven. Be sure to walk by the Buffalo Creek and listen to the stories told by the mountain\nman himself.\n\nMark your calendar and bring your family and friends for an experiential day filled with history and educational fun that the whole family will enjoy.
