SUMMARY:Paramount Bristol: The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:Paramount Bristol Presents\n\n\n\nThe Red Jumpsuit Apparatus\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThu\, July 18\, 2024\n\n\nDoors: 6:30 pm / Show: 7:30 pm\n\n\n$25.04-$82 (prices include all applicable fees and taxes ) / Members save at least $5 per ticket\n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n\nSometimes it’s hard to believe that The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus began their expedition into the hearts and minds of a generation 20 years ago. Their blazing 2006 single “Face Down” delivered both anthemic choruses and a strident message about domestic abuse\, achieving both sales accolades and adoration from crowds all over the planet. They’ve accomplished a massive amount\, from 5x platinum record sales to enormous streaming numbers and a remarkable touring history\, but the band’s real success begins and ends with the dedication and passion frontman Ronnie Winter has for his fans. From the poignancy of “Face Down” to the blistering fan favorite “Brace Yourself” (from 2020’s The Emergency EP)\, the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus continue to put sweat equity and sincerity into a world that desperately needs it in no uncertain terms. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have proven how far you can go by opening your heart and diming your guitar amps. This isn’t nostalgia—this is right now. \nDoors open at 6:30 pm. Our Box Office opens 2 hours before showtime. For shows not already sold out\, tickets will be available at the door on the day of show for an additional cost of $5 (+tax and service fee). BUYER BEWARE! Third party tickets (StubHub\, eTix\, VividSeats\, etc.) will NOT be honored. Tickets are available via paramountbristol.org or our Box Office ONLY.  All sales are final. Refunds and exchanges are not permitted.  Outside food and drinks are not allowed.

SUMMARY:Twitty & Lynn
DESCRIPTION:Sun\, March 3\, 2024\nDoors: 2 pm / Show: 3 pm\n$57.54 – $103.50 (prices include all applicable fees and taxes) / Members save at least $5 per ticket\n\n\nPurchase tickets at Twitty & Lynn – Shows and Events – Paramount Bristol\n\n\nThere’s a moment right at the very beginning of any Twitty & Lynn show that affords country music fans the chance to look back in time. Just after the band has played the signature intro to “Louisiana Woman\, Mississippi Man\,” Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn shoot each other a glance that summons the electrifying chemistry of their grandparents: Tre is the grandson of Conway Twitty\, Tayla is the granddaughter of Loretta Lynn. Audiences can’t believe their eyes. From that moment\, for the next 90 minutes\, they’re in the presence of living country music history. “Fans have told Tayla and me that when they see us onstage singing\, talking\, and just looking at each other\, they think\, ‘Wow\, there must be something genetic in those two families\,’” Tre says. “It validates the experience of the concert for them. We’re telling our grandparents’ story through our story.”\n\nBut Twitty & Lynn — and their internationally popular show “A Salute to Conway & Loretta” — aren’t impersonators. Tre doesn’t groom Seventies sideburns and perm his hair; Tayla doesn’t mimic her grandmother’s mannerisms. Rather\, they are onstage celebrating country music\, the lost art of duet singing\, and the two beloved icons they refer to as “Poppy” and “Memaw.” “It’s about family — the fans’ families and our own\,” Tayla says. “We have so much love and respect for Conway and Loretta and we want to carry this on in such a way that we make our families proud.”\n\nNow together as “Twitty & Lynn” for five years and poised to launch a huge summertime tour\, the duo has cultivated an audience and caught the attention of Nashville along the way. In 2022\, they made their debut on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry\, singing “Louisiana Woman\, Mississippi Man” on the very same circle of wood where Conway and Loretta once stood. In the end\, though\, their goal is to entertain while\, at the same time\, honoring their grandparents. Tre is lobbying for Conway\, already a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame\, to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame\, and Tayla is working on preserving not just Loretta’s music but her fashion: she wore one of her grandmother’s outfits onstage at the Opry.\n\n“Conway and Loretta used to do everything with so much passion: the way they dressed\, the way they recorded\, the way they performed\,” Tayla says. “We want to bring that to fans who were lucky enough to see our grandparents before and to those who are just learning about them.” “Our show gives people an idea of what Loretta and Conway were like through their grandchildren’s eyes\,” adds Tre. “It’s a special gift to keep that flame burning.”\n\nDoors open at 2 pm. Our Box Office opens 2 hours before showtime (1 pm). For shows not already sold out\, tickets will be available at the door on the day of show for an additional cost of $5 (+tax and service fee). SUMMARY:Pete Rose
DESCRIPTION:Sat\, February 24\, 2024\nDoors: 6:30 pm / Show: 7:30 pm\n$47.53 – $207.00 (prices include all applicable fees and taxes) / Members save at least $5 per ticket\n\n\nPurchase tickets at Pete Rose – Shows and Events – Paramount Bristol\n\n\nMost career Hits (4\,256) ever. Most career Games (3\,562) ever. Most career AB (14\,053) ever. 17 time All-Star. 7 time MLB Hits leader. 3 time MLB Runs leader. 3 time World Series Champ. 1975 World Series MVP. 2 time MLB Batting Champ. 1973 NL MVP. 1963 NL Rookie of the Year. He got the nickname “Charlie Hustle” for a reason. Join Pete as he talks about\, baseball\, the Hall of Fame and just his life in general. This show will be loaded with great stories from a legendary baseball player.\n\nPeter Edward Rose Sr. (born April 14\, 1941)\, also known by his nickname “Charlie Hustle“\, played Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1986\, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds lineup known as the Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Montreal Expos. During and after his playing career\, he served as the manager of the Reds from 1984 to 1989. In August 1989 (his last year as a manager and three years after retiring as a player)\, Rose was penalized with permanent ineligibility from baseball amidst accusations that he gambled on baseball games while he played for and managed the Reds; the charges of wrongdoing included claims that he bet on his own team. In 1991\, the Baseball Hall of Fame formally voted to ban those on the “permanently ineligible” list from induction\, after previously excluding such players by informal agreement among voters. After years of public denial\, Rose admitted in 2004 that he bet on baseball and on the Reds. The issue of his possible reinstatement and election to the Hall of Fame remains contentious throughout baseball.\n\nThe event will feature a popular local guest moderator\, Steve Hawkins.\n\nSteve retired after a 46-year career in TV news\, talk radio and media relations. He was a sports reporter for WCYB-TV when Pete Rose was an integral part of the Big Red Machine\, and when Pete transitioned to the Philadelphia Phillies; Steve was able to track Charlie Hustle’s achievements on the field on a daily basis for the first three years of his career in television.\n\nWhile a student at ETSU\, Steve began working fulltime in sports for WCYB-TV. Over the next 35 years\, he was sports director\, news anchor\, executive producer and\, for 25 years\, news director. He transitioned to talk radio in 2011 for three years and then completed his career working in media relations for Alpha Natural Resources. Steve also taught news writing and reporting at ETSU for 35 years.\n\nDoors open at 6:30pm. Showtime is 7:30pm. Our Box Office opens 2 hours before showtime. SUMMARY:Paramount Bristol Presents Cherry Poppin’ Daddies Christmas Canteen
DESCRIPTION:Fri\, December 15\, 2023\nDoors: 6:30 pm / Show: 7:30 pm\n$36.04 – $81.50 (prices include all applicable fees and taxes ) / Members save at least $5 per ticket\n\n\nPurchase tickets at Cherry Poppin’ Daddies Christmas Canteen – Shows and Events – Paramount Bristol\n\n\nIn the past few years Cherry Poppin’ Daddies have become the kind of band that you would want to book if you were throwing a soiree at the Gatsby mansion. Penning elegant\, lush\, pitch perfect arrangements of much of the great American songbook\, from Cole Porter to Frank Sinatra\, the Daddies have surprised many- likely familiar with them from the early 90’s- whose limited exposure to the band undoubtedly consists of an image of spray painted vans careening across the US as an iconoclastic\, misfit part of an already marginalized punk/ska scene.\n\nIn fact the Daddies have of late put together a number of excellent swing/ jazz sit down theatre type shows\, each tailored to a different era of swing music: a “Jazz Age Lawn Party” consisting of roaring 20’s and Cotton Club Era material\, a swanky “Live at the Sands” type tribute to the Rat Pack\, and a World War 2 “Christmas Canteen” show that is part Tiki\, part Benny Goodman and comes across like a radio broadcast from Guadalcanal circa 1942. The sheer craftsmanship and professional attention to detail of these performances have shed new light on this criminally underestimated band.\n\nSupporting Act: The Dimestore Cowboys\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 pm. Our Box Office opens 2 hours before showtime. For shows not already sold out\, tickets will be available at the door on the day of show for an additional cost of $5 (+tax and service fee). SUMMARY:The Bristol Ballet Presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream
DESCRIPTION:Sat\, May 11\, 2024\nTwo shows: Noon and 5:30pm\n$11.00 – $23.50 plus applicable taxes and fees\n\n\nPurchase tickets at A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Shows and Events – Paramount Bristol\n\n\nJoin Bristol Ballet for a new interpretation of Shakespeare’s iconic comedy\, A Midsummer Night’s Dream\, live on stage on May 11! The play was first written in 1595\, and first performed as a ballet in the 1960s to a beautiful score by Felix Mendelssohn\, composed specifically for the story in 1826. This performance features all of the students and company members of Bristol Ballet\, as well as community members and guest artists. The ballet tells the timeless tale of fairy mischief and mortal mayhem. Oberon\, king of the fairies\, fights with Titania\, the queen of the fairies\, over a child. Oberon punishes Titania by sending Puck\, his mischievous fairy sidekick\, to make Titania fall in love with the first person she sees. Puck accidentally meddles with two human couples in the course of his mischief. Thus ensues much confusion between the four mortals as their lives intertwine. Finally\, Oberon makes peace with Titania\, and Puck rearranges everything back to the natural order. From fairy shenanigans to love triangles to a spellbound donkey\, and a lot of drama in between\, there are plenty of humorous moments to enjoy\n\nOur Box Office opens 2 hours before each showtime. She loves the world and wears her heart on her sleeve\, but she might eat it before you get to thinking it belongs to you. Wild Creatures pulls together some high points of feral joy from twenty-one years of solo work by Neko Case. The Virginian marked Neko’s debut as a solo artist in 1997. She delved into darkness in 2000 with Furnace Room Lullaby\, scrawled Blacklisted in 2004 and recorded The Tigers Have Spoken live the same year. In 2006\, she dreamed Fox Confessor Brings the Flood\, and in 2009 unleashed Middle Cyclone. She plumbed her own life in 2013 for The Worse Things Get\, the Harder I Fight\, the Harder I Fight\, the More I Love You\, and raised hell in 2018 with Hell-On. \nNow in her third decade of recording under her own name\, she’s just getting started. She’s doing it on her own terms\, but the legacy she’s building is one that can stand up to music made by any other solo artist in her lifetime. Don’t look away; you never know what might happen. “I’m just trying\,” she says\, “to be myself as hard as I can.” \n  \n  \nDoors open at 6:30 pm. Our Box Office opens 2 hours before showtime. SUMMARY:Morgan Wade to perform at Bristol's Paramount Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Morgan Wade didn’t write to be a sensation\, for critical acclaim or massive concert tours. She wrote to speak her truth\, to save her own life – and perhaps throw a rope to others struggling with the weight of a world moving too fast\, loves where you fall too hard and nights that\, good or bad\, seem to go on forever. A Blue Ridge Mountain girl willing to put her whole truth out there as an artist without flinching – and as a performer who gives it all away onstage – Wade has a voice The FADER lauds is “like a jagged blade\, sharp enough to draw blood but lustrous under the light” while The New York Times declares “she sounds like she’s singing from the depths of history.” The old soul writer understands chaos\, compulsion and letting go in a way most people will never experience; with her songs\, she brings listeners inside the rollercoaster ride of euphoria\, emptiness and exile with a soft touch and deep truth. With her unabashed debut album Reckless\, she landed on various Best Album and Songs of 2021 rankings from TIME\, Rolling Stone\, The New York Times\, Stereogum\, The FADER\, Tennessean\, Boston Globe\, and more. Produced by Jason Isbell + the 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden and Paul Ebersold\, the trio worked to create a song cycle that pulled the lean rock of Tom Petty through a modern take on country — and achieved a No. 1 on SiriusXM The Highway’s Top 30 Countdown with debut single “Wilder Days.” Having reached radio’s Top 30 with the acoustic guitar-driven track\, Reckless (Deluxe Edition)\, available now\, expands the conversation with six additional tracks\, including a scalding\, heart beating read on Elvis’ Presley’s “Suspicious Minds” and desperate “The Night” – Wade’s first release. Having toured with Lucero last fall\, she joins Luke Combs\, Chris Stapleton\, Brooks & Dunn\, and more on the road throughout

SUMMARY:Theatre Bristol: Elf
DESCRIPTION:ELF The Musical The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear! Theatre Bristol brings the holiday spirit with lots of singing\, dancing\, and magical moments in Elf The Musical this November 11-20 onstage weekends at The Paramount Center for the Arts! “Buddy\, a young orphan\, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised\, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission\, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa\, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. SUMMARY:Paramount Bristol: Blackberry Smoke
DESCRIPTION:Blackberry Smoke\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSat\, October 29\, 2022\n\n\nDoors: 6:30 pm / Show: 7:30 pm\n\n\n$53.04 – $95.00 (prices include all applicable fees and taxes ) / Members save at least $5 per ticket\n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n\nBlackberry Smoke — vocalist/lead guitarist Charlie Starr\, guitarist/vocalist Paul Jackson\, bassist/vocalist Richard Turner\, drummer Brit Turner\, and keyboardist Brandon Still – are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. Over the years\, the band’s toured with ZZ Top\, Zac Brown Band\, and Eric Church\, while the group’s last four full-lengths reached the top 10 of the Billboard country charts\, with two of these albums (2015’s Holding All The Roses and 2016’s Like An Arrow) landing at No. 1. \nTheir latest release\, You Hear Georgia\, reinforces that the band members have come so far together because they also can rely on one another for support and creative direction\, no matter what the circumstances. “Having played music together for so long\, it does become a sort of a telepathic thing\, where we all are nodding our head at the same time\, like\, ‘A-ha\, I know what this feels like\,’ or what it should feel and sound like\,” Starr says. “That’s what makes it so enjoyable to be in a band: to play with the same dudes decade after decade\,” he adds. “Because when you land on something that works to you\, you don’t want to stop. You want to keep doing it.” \n  \nDoors open at 6:30pm. Our Box Office opens 2 hours before showtime.
