SUMMARY:American Jet Sport Association Jet Ski Racing
DESCRIPTION:JOHNSON CITY\, Tenn. – Visit Johnson City is proud to lend their support to the American Jet Sport Association (AJSA) as they bring the 2023 Southern Summer Series to Winged Deer Lakeside Park July 14th through July 16th. \n  \nThis event is one of many with a goal in mind of bringing visitors and locals alike back to Winged Deer Lakeside Park following the 7-year-long Boone Dam restoration project. When a sinkhole began forming near the dam’s base in late 2014\, it was unknown how long the water level of Boone Lake would be too low to allow for watersports to take place. The Boone Dam project was finally completed in 2022\, giving organizers such as the AJSA the ability to host events at Johnson City’s premier lakefront area once more. \n  \nMaking its debut in 2019 as the Chattanooga Jet Ski Club\, the AJSA has grown exponentially and transformed into a grass roots southeastern racing league. Using Chattanooga\, TN as its headquarters\, the AJSA plans to focus most races within a 6-hour driving circle around Chattanooga – making Johnson City a perfect stop along the way. \n  \nJohnson City’s Winged Deer Lakeside Park will play host to rounds seven and eight on the AJSA Southern Summer Series tour. “Johnson City is an amazing place with lots of things to do and see\, and we plan to bring some exciting racing to Winged Deer Park. As a former resident of Johnson City\, I am excited to share this amazing city with my race family and friends. We invite everyone to come out and watch\,” said Keith McAfee\, Chief Partnership Officer for the AJSA. \n  \nFriday\, July 14th will be reserved for junior level registration and course practice. Saturday\, July 15th and Sunday\, July 16th will include Pro WX Qualifiers/Main Events\, amateur\, and junior racing. Food trucks will be present on Saturday and Sunday. There is a $10 gate fee per person\, which is a small price to pay to witness this dynamic and electric water sport event for all ages. \nThe AJSA seeks to promote racing at all levels in the Southeast United States. AJSA desires to serve riders at every experience level. Whether you are a seasoned racer or interested in learning how to race\, AJSA has a place for you. The AJSA is not associated with any sanctioning body. The reason for starting their own sanctioning body is to allow the focus to be placed on the riders and the venues where races will be held. In other words\, racing for racers by racers with a focus on friends\, family\, and fun. \n  \nVisit Johnson City strives to showcase the uniqueness of the community by promoting its distinctive resources\, events\, and attractions to both visitors and citizens. SUMMARY:Appalachian Open Men’s and Women’s Wakesurf Competition
DESCRIPTION:The Appalachian Open is a Competitive Wakesurfing Association (CWSA) sanctioned silver level event.\nProfessional and semi pro riders from across the United States will be competing for their share of $5000\nin cash and other prizes. Event organizers are anticipating approximately 60 competitors from across\nNorth America.
