Your Guide to 2018 Kingsport FunFest!

What do you get when you mix nine days with more than 50 locations and nearly 100 events? Kingsport Fun Fest!

And, with the City of Kingsport celebrating 100 years, this year’s festival is set to be one of the largest parties of the year. Many FunFest! favorites will return, including block parties along the streets, a televised parade, the iconic hot air balloons, the highly anticipated Sunset Concert Series and the big finale of fireworks.

Sunset Concert Series Entertainment
Casting Crowns with Passion will kick off the series on July 19 followed by Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo on July 21. The festival finale will be The Avett Brothers on July 22.

Thursday, July 19
Thursday night’s Contemporary Christian Concert  will open with Passion, a Christian praise band. With more than 1.9 million units sold and a multitude of chart-topping singles such as “How Great Is Our God,” “God Of This City,” “One Thing Remains,” “Even So Come,” and “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord),” listeners across the world continue to be impacted by the music of Passion.Thursday’s night headliner will be Casting Crowns. Casting Crowns was formed in 1999 by youth pastor, Mark Hall. Since then, the band has won a Dove Award and Grammy for their music.

Friday, July 20
The Friday Night Concert, presented by Appalachian Power and Domtar, kicks off with Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo. Pat Benatar: she’s always been a rule-breaker and a trail-blazer, she remains a bold and distinctive artist both on stage and on record, and now, after more than three decades in rock ‘n’ roll, she’s a bonafideliving legend. Neil “Spyder“ James Giraldo, has been a professional musician, producer, arranger and songwriter for over four decades now, changing the face of the pop charts throughout the 1980s with his collaborator, muse and wife, Pat Benatar. Saturday, July 21
Fun Fest 2018 will end the week on Saturday with The Avett Brothers presented by Eastman. The American Folk rock band comes from Concord, North Carolina. Their most recent album, “True Sadness”, was nominated for two awards. “Ain’t No Man” is the lead single on the album and can often be heard on the local alternative station. The Eastman Fireworks Spectacular will follow afterThe Avett Brothers. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

The Sunset Concert Series will take place on the at J. Fred Johnson Stadium. Additional Series sponsors include Eastman Credit Union and Visit Kingsport. For tickets, visit funfest.net.

Crowd Favorites
Breakfast with the balloons, the fast paced Crazy 8’s races, Kids Central, vendors, dog friendly activities, block parties galore and festival food will all return in 2018.
