Senior Softball World Series
Visit Johnson City is thrilled to announce that Winged Deer Park will play host to the highly anticipated International Senior Softball Association (ISSA) Senior Softball World Series from September 11-15, 2024.
This year’s tournament is made possible in part by the newly added James K. Ellis Softball Complex at Winged Deer Park. This expansion provides state-of-the-art turf fields that meet the demands of hosting a world-class softball event. This complex boasts top-notch amenities, including meticulously maintained fields, ample spectator seating, and modern facilities for players and officials. This addition underscores Johnson City’s commitment to fostering sports excellence and enhancing recreational opportunities for its residents and visitors alike.
The addition of the James K. Ellis Softball Complex highlights the necessity of the park’s expansion, particularly evident in events like this. With the enhanced facilities, the park now has the capacity to host upwards of 50-70 teams over a 5-day period, catering to out-of-town organizers, while still accommodating local programming needs. Given Visit Johnson City’s tournament track record, this event is anticipated to generate an estimated economic impact of nearly half a million dollars.

Division winners from this tournament will receive an automatic berth to the 14th Annual World Tournament of Champions (WTOC) in Tampa, Florida in February of 2025.
The International Senior Softball Association (ISSA) is a not-for-profit corporation organized in 1994 by experienced softball administrators to provide the senior players a voice in the sport and the opportunity to participate in and experience the highest quality world-class tournaments.
