Jonesborough: A Doggone Christmas

A Doggone Christmas comes to Downtown Jonesborough
As part of the month-long Christmas in Olde Jonesborough celebration events, the Town of Jonesborough will present A Doggone Christmas on Saturday, December 7 from 11 am to 3 pm. Attendees can check in at the information tent beside the courthouse and get a treat bag with a doggy snack and an original JBO pet bandana for the first 200 people. A Local Business Paw Print will be on the doors of stores that are pet friendly and offer a free pet treat.
There will be a Costume Contest sponsored by Appalachian Highlands Humane Society and Tennessee Tails Pet Botique with prizes in both large breed and small breed categories that takes place at 1 pm. including Ugliest Christmas Dog Sweater, Best Holiday Costume and Pet/Owner Lookalike. The Costume Contest will be emceed by Washington County Mayor, Joe Grandy. No prior registration is necessary for the costume contest. After the contest, pets and owners can join in the Pet Parade down Main Street.
Owners are encouraged to bring their pets for pictures with Santa in his sleigh beside the Washington County Courthouse. Donations will be accepted by the Appalachian Highlands Humane Society for photos with Santa.
Stop in our Christmas Marketplace and shop for all handmade holiday gifts with an emphasis on pet-themed items from local artisans. Free Face Painting will be available for the kids at the International Storytelling Center and the whole family can stroll along Main Street while enjoying Christmas Music wafting through the winter wonderland. Also, enjoy free gift wrapping from Cindy Lees inside the International Storytelling Gift Shop for anything purchased.
Enjoy food from Little Delights food truck and a hot drink from Sweet Caroline’s. Attendees can also grab a bite to eat from one of our local restaurants: Main Street Cafe, Opossum’s Tale, Texas Burritos & More, Boone Street Market, Neuma Coffee, and Corner Company Beverage Emporium. Grab a free s’more at the Christopher Taylor Cabin provided by the Boy Scouts.
Stop by the Jonesborough Paws in Blue tent and purchase a hot drink with all proceeds going to Jonesborough Paws in Blue objective to raise funds to obtain additional K9s and the support of the K9s.
Santa’s Mailbox is located by the Courthouse and kids can drop off their Santa Letters and get a reply by Christmas if a return address is included in the letter.
Get a sweet picture inside the Sugar Plum Fairy Cottage, a 12-foot long wooden cottage decorated with candy and sweets, located in the front lawn of the Christopher Taylor Cabin.
