Broom Making and Basket Workshops at the Doak House

Instructor John Alexander first learned to make Poplar bark baskets on trips in the woods with his father. Later he learnedbroom making as a student at Berea College in the 1970s. He delights in passing these important crafts and traditions on to others.
Broom class will be from 9 am to 12 pm, baskets will be offered from 1 pm to 4 pm, June 4th. Reservations are required, class sizes are limited. Contact Dollie Boyd at 423-636-8554 or dboyd@tusculum.edu to make a reservation.
