53rd Annual Holiday Bazaar & Expo

GREENEVILLE, TN: The GFWC of Tennessee Greeneville Woman’s Club is set to go for its  53rd Annual Holiday Bazaar & Expo. The two-day event is set for Saturday, November 2, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; and Sunday, November 3, noon to 5:00 PM.at Hal Henard Elementary School, 425 E. Vann Rd. The theme is “Santa’s Workshop”.

According to Sherri Cox and Darlene Moore, co-chairmen of the event, “There will be hundreds of craftsmen, offering everything from holiday decorations to jewelry and clothing, from paintings to wooden items for the home and much more. There will be a variety of food available – from hot dogs to beans and cornbread, homemade chili to chicken and dumplings.”

Cost to the event is only $5.00 and that is for the two days. Children six and under get in free. The first 1,000 attendees will get free shopping bags with three bags featuring $100 gift certificates from Broyles, and selected other bags will feature gifts from some of the participating vendors.

Food will be offered from SnoBiz and will include ham and sausage biscuits for breakfast, chicken and dumplings, barbecue, taco soup, potato soup, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, croissants with homemade chicken salad, soup beans and cornbread, nachos, chili chips and cheese, hot fudge cake and a variety of other desserts, plus their homemade lemonade.  The Hot Dog Man, John Price, will feature his popular Nathan hot dogs, Italian Sausage, Polish Sausage, Andouille Sausage and Bratswurst. The Woman’s Club will feature Baked Potatoes, nachos, hot dogs with chili, chips, brownies, and lemon bars.

Other food items offered on site will include Amanda Hope, of Chuckey, Grann’s Gourmet Apples that includes all types of gourmet apples and strawberries, Lynette and Eric Price of Greeneville, Creamy Cup, with a variety of coffees and ice cream.

Co-chairman Moore said, “I’m extremely excited about our Santa Hat Christmas ornaments that have been totally homemade this year by members of our club. The ornaments are Santa hats and are made of clay, air dried and hand-painted in red, blue, pink, or big orange. They will sell for $5.00 and may be personalized.

In closing, Co-chairman Sherri Cox said, “We feel that this year’s event is more important than ever before considering the past few weeks. Many vendors rely on this money and the money we raise will go to help many of the people who are in need. So please join us for a fun event and help your community too.”

All proceeds realized from the event go back into the community in the areas of arts and culture, civic involvement and outreach, education and libraries, environment and health and wellness.
