5th Annual Kingsport Wing Fling
WING FLING RETURNS NOVEMBER 2
Kingsport’s Spiciest Event Returns for its 5th Year
KINGSPORT, Tenn. – On Thursday, November 2nd, Visit Kingsport will host the Kingsport Wing Fling, presented by Eastman Credit Union, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Kingsport Farmers Market.
Kingsport’s Wing Fling, presented by Eastman Credit Union and media sponsors Daytime Tri-Cities, Electric 94.9 and 96.9 WXBQ, will feature vendors from across the Tri-Cities region serving their best wings. Attendees will have the chance to sample wings from all vendors and then vote for the “People’s Choice Award.”
A panel of first responders representing Kingsport Fire, Kingsport Police, Sullivan County EMS and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office will be the official judges for the event. They will select winners for “Best Hot Wing,” “Best Sweet Wing,” “Most Original Flavor,” and “Best Overall Wing.”
Back by popular demand this year is the Wing Fling Battle of the Badges. A second panel of first responders representing Kingsport Fire, Kingsport Police, Sullivan County EMS and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a wing eating competition. The winning badge will take home the trophy for the year along with all the bragging rights.
Although the focus of the night is all about WINGS, there’s plenty more for attendees to enjoy. The event will feature a live DJ, select additional food items for purchase from wing vendors. Beer and seltzers will also be available for purchase. Freddy’s Frozen Custard will be on hand selling their food for children and others who may not be wing lovers.
Tickets include entry, wing sampling, carrots, celery, dipping sauce and tea. Tickets are $15 and are available online at KPTWingFling.com or at the Kingsport Chamber. Children 10 and under are free and do not require a ticket for entry unless they are planning to sample wings. The ticket price will increase to $20 the day of the event.
