Join us for the 2019 Friends of the Archives Annual Meeting and Betty Gibson Memorial Lecture. The featured speaker will be Lonnie Salyer a.k.a. Big Lon. Lonnie will present “After The Big Bang: Local Independent Tri-Cities Record Labels.”
Lonnie Salyer is a local music historian and record collector from Kingsport, TN focused on the preservation of 78 rpm and 45 rpm recordings from Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. He manages Big Lon’s Crateful Dig on Facebook, has a weekly radio show Diggin’ With Big Lon on WBCM – Radio Bristol broadcasting original vintage records live from the Birthplace of Country Music Museum and is currently President of the Appalachian Cultural Music Association.
