Big Region Preseason Invitational at Winged Deer Park

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – King University Softball, in partnership with Visit Johnson City, will host the inaugural Big Region Preseason Invitational at the newly completed James K. Ellis Softball Complex at Winged Deer Park. This marks the first-ever collegiate softball event at the complex. The tournament will feature eight collegiate teams, both local and out-of-market, competing in this historic preseason event.

WHEN:

• Saturday, February 8 – First pitch at 1:00 PM

• Sunday, February 9 – First pitch at 11:00 AM

WHERE: James K. Ellis Softball Complex (277 Champions Ln, Johnson City, TN 37601)

WHO: Collegiate teams participating include:

• Barton College (Wilson, NC)

• Carson-Newman University (Jefferson City, TN)

• Converse University (Spartanburg, SC)

• Emory & Henry University (Emory, VA)

• King University (Bristol, TN)

• Lees-McRae College (Banner Elk, NC)

• Tusculum University (Greeneville, TN)

• UVA Wise (Wise, VA)

WHY: This event marks a milestone in collegiate softball in Johnson City and the region’s sports tourism industry as a whole.

ADMISSION: Tickets range from $10 to $20.
