The Jackson Theatre is proud to welcome Colby T. Helms & The Virginia Creepers to the stage onSaturday, June 21 at 8:00 p.m. in downtown Jonesborough.
Raised in Boones Mill, Virginia, Colby T. Helms blends bluegrass, folk, and country with raw, heartfelt storytelling rooted in Appalachian tradition. Inspired by the music that surrounded him growing up and a bluegrass band that played at his father’s funeral, Colby taught himself guitar, banjo, and mandolin at a young age and began performing across the region by the time he was 16.
His debut album Tales of Misfortune was released in January 2024 and features tracks like “Higher Ground,” “Mountain Brandy,” and “Daddy’s Pocket Knife.” The album has been praised for its authenticity and emotional depth.
Earlier this year, Colby wrapped his “Tales From Virginia” UK Tour, performing to new audiences across England and Scotland. His upcoming show at The Jackson Theatre marks a return to the region as his momentum continues to grow.
