Greeneville: Derby Day on Main

The focus for this fundraiser is to support children in Greeneville and Greene County, addressing the urgent issue of food insecurity. Shockingly, 1 in 4 families in the community is food insecure, representing a staggering 22% hunger rate. It’s imperative that the community comes together to address this pressing issue and ensure no child goes to bed hungry.

The Second Harvest Food Bank tirelessly works to alleviate hunger and food insecurity by gathering surplus food and distributing it to those in need across the region. Their unwavering dedication provides nourishment and hope to countless families, making a profound impact on the community. Each ticket sold for the event will contribute to supporting one child for an entire year, with ticket prices set at $100 for one or $150 for two. Additionally, full table sponsorships are available for $5000 (Winner’s Circle), $2500 (Place), and $1500 (Show). Every contribution counts towards making a difference.

Exciting news about the dedicated committee behind the planning of the Derby on Main event at the illustrious General Morgan Inn, all in support of Second Harvest of Northeast Tennessee. Comprising individuals committed to community welfare, the team includes outstanding members such as Betty Weemes, Cathy Osborne, Christina Potts, Cindy Strange, Dee McAfee, Isaac Myers, Jessy Boswell, Mary Ruth Edds, Nicole Rader, Pam Johnson, Patricia Bohon, Rhonda Shanks, Sharon Hopson, Tracy Dolese, Judy Plucker, and Carol Brown. The Derby on Main event, scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, from 5-10 pm on the Garden Terrace, promises to be the best party south of Lexington, Kentucky. The festivities will include a delightful spread of heavy hors d’oeuvres, exciting party games, and a live broadcast of the 150th annual Kentucky Derby on the large projector screen.
