History Happy Hour
August 16, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Who was Rhea Wells? That was the guiding question for Dr. Brenda G’Fellers and Kristin Pearson of the Bristol Public Library as they researched local artist and children’s book author Rhea Wells (1891-1962). Wells was well known, yet reclusive, and tended to be protective of his private life even as a public figure. As the two researchers kept looking into Wells’ history—including his time spent living in Jonesborough—they kept uncovering new information about his life, some of which had been unknown even to his family! Find out more about the trail of discovery taken by these two researchers at this month’s History Happy Hour. The program starts at 6:30 PM and is free and open to the public.
History Happy Hour is a collaborative program that features speakers and researchers from various local organizations, museums, and schools. Presenters for 2018 include independent researchers, National Park Service rangers, professors, and museum professionals from across the region. The programs are on the 3rd Thursday each month at 6:30 pm.
