Jonesborough Celebration of Trees
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until December 18, 2016
The scent of Fraser firs, twinkling lights, Christmas decorations and ornaments are filling the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center & Old Town Emporium Gift Shop. The annual Celebration of Trees, a unique exhibit of beautifully decorated live Christmas trees running will be held in Historic Jonesborough Dec. 5 through 18.
The trees hold character and personality all their own. This year there will be six trees; each sponsored and decorated by area individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations. Our sponsors and volunteers are Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Cub Scout Pack 130, Tuesday Garden Club, JBO Genealogical Society, FCE Home Club, Jonesborough Kiwanis Club, JBO Yarn Exchange and the Schubert Club. Without these holiday-spirited individuals this would not be possible.
The Celebration of Trees has been a Jonesborough tradition for more than 26 years. Hundreds of visitors come through the doors to view the trees as well as shop at the Old Town Emporium. Itโs a holiday tradition for many and a great opportunity to create memories with loved ones.
Another popular activity during the Celebration of Trees is the coveted โPeopleโs Choiceโ award.ย The award is determined by public vote during the exhibitโs duration and has been awarded to a different group each year.
The Celebration of Trees is free and open to the public on display Monday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 18 during the Visitors Center & Old Town Emporiumโs regular business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
