Rodney Crowell
June 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. — The Jackson Theatre welcomes Rodney Crowell on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
A two-time Grammy Award winner and member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Crowell remains one of the most influential voices in American roots music. With more than four decades of acclaimed releases, he continues to shape the worlds of country, Americana, and contemporary songwriting.
Crowell arrives in Jonesborough in support of Airline Highway, his vibrant 20th studio album. Produced with Tyler Bryant and recorded live at Dockside Studio in Louisiana, the album captures a spontaneous spirit, blending Crowell’s storytelling prowess with contributions from Lukas Nelson, Ashley McBryde, Charlie Starr, and Larkin Poe.
Inspired by the swamp-pop sounds of his youth and recorded in the heart of Cajun country, Airline Highway reflects on the past while celebrating the present. From the rollicking homage “The Twenty-One Song Salute” to the haunting closer “Somewhere Down the Road,” Crowell delivers a wise, joyful meditation on legacy and letting go.
Throughout his career, Crowell has earned widespread recognition as both a performer and songwriter. His landmark 1988 album Diamonds & Dirt produced an unprecedented five consecutive No. 1 singles on the country charts. His acclaimed collaborations include Old Yellow Moon and The Traveling Kind with Emmylou Harris, while his memoir, Chinaberry Sidewalks, earned praise from The New York Times.
Still breaking new ground, Crowell continues to connect generations of music fans and artists alike. Describing Airline Highway as “a document of falling in love with music all over again,” he brings his celebrated catalog and latest work to The Jackson Theatre for an evening of songs and stories from one of America’s most enduring musical voices.
