Using what she calls “improvisational crochet” technique, Sheila Pepe is known for her large-scale three-dimensional ephemeral installations and sculpture – out of materials such as shoelaces, yarn, nets, ship anchor line and rubber bands. Crocheting, a skill she learned from her mother, is part of the feminist underpinnings of her work, which is widely exhibited worldwide. https://www.sheilapepe.com/
